  1. i am a lamper but i do enjoy the odd days out with the ferrets
  2. me and my pal have permission up dales settle, grassington, kettlewell, kinsley, Got over 4000 acares fella so we need dogs that are on fire and get the job done straight away no f*****g about no running towards bunnys. Soon as you start doing that your guna take the dogs eye off its prize bad move in my eyes let the dog find its feet. penny wise would a bigger dog not do o.k up the dales then? say 25-27tts if you run smaller dogs
  3. nice looking trio of dogs there baw.
  4. welcome to the site. what dogs do you run?
  5. my vet charges me 2.50 a pop for them mate. i would change vets if i was you.
  6. great stuff. that whippet of yours looks in great condition in the secound pic.
  7. Ok it wasnt a test on getting to places........... ..What they done was tried to see if a dog knew when its owner was coming home...........set up cctv and watched the dogs behaviour. They never knew when there owner was coming home as some folk think they do......just happened to be a coincidence sometimes. Not much difference then I seen a test on when cheese melts, f**k all to do with that either the dog I'm talking about jumps in, permission I'm talking about is 45 mins away. He stands for first 10 mins till I get fed up of him panting in my ear lays down and gets back up just before
  8. happy birthday mate, hope its been a good un so far
  9. should be fine mate. with the 10amp battery your suppose to get 2 hours 30minutes of continous light with a 50 watt bulb.
  10. theres some stuff called cortaflex that helps with joint trouble. its farely expensive but by all accounts its money well spent. i believe they done it for race horses at first and it was that good they have brought it out for humans aswell, its supposed to help the body produce all the natural fluids in the joints. not sure if it will help with arthritus but it might well be worth looking into.
  11. copper bracelets appear to work for some folk and not for others. a mate of mine suffers with arthritic pain in his anckle and he wore a copper bracelet for a few years, he now wears one of those magnetic braclets and reckons it is alot better than the copper one. he reckons it was well worth paying the money for the magnetics.
  12. smart looking pup that 21dangermouse. should make you a good first dog and provide you with many a happy hunting trips. atb best with her.
  13. thats only one nights lamping what you going to catch the rest of the season lol. theres nice amount there, your lucky . by all accounts after speaking to one or two folk in my area the rabbits are having a good time of breeding this year, which is just aswell because numbers were down last season after the wet year we had.
  14. if theres one thing ive learnt about dogs and thats dont judge them by there looks. ive seen some right mongrel looking things out in the field perform well, on the other hand ive seen the raciest smartest looking dogs out in the field and they are just simply shit.
  15. he looks different there ray. the new season is fast apraoching and he will be a good age to start the season.
  16. i never run my dogs from a slip always off. imo it saves alot of time and fecking about putting a dog back on the lead, also a good lamp dog should be able to work the beam. from anywhere in the field when it has missed its rabbit it should be able to go to straight back to the end of the beem if you happen to put it onto another rabbit anywhere in the field.
  17. dont know of any cheap vets in south wales, i thought the jab wasnt that expensive from them its just there consultancy fee which is a fecker. i got 2 jills done by my vets earlier this year and it was £25 for the lot. it was £5.50 a ferret for the jab and £14 consultancy fee.
  18. i know one thing i will never forget the feeling i used to get when i reached or looked into a nest and discovered eggs as a kid. egg hunting passed many a hour away for me when i was a kid.
  19. thats what i thought when i read the topic title.
  20. nice looking pups them mike, good luck rehomeing them.
  21. whats your money on socks? ive never seen people hunt with birds so i dont know feck all about it. a good experiencend ferreting dog would be on a bolting rabbit quick though.
  22. greyhounds dont always swell alot, in my experience they can difficult to mate for that reason. a very experienced stud dog helps alot especially if its her first ever mateing.
  23. mis read the post so ive edited it.
