  1. i feed my dog about 6 or 7 hours before i go out and then straight away when i get home. on the few occasions ive had a invite out from Tomo i take some food to give my dog as soon as we have finished as its a long drive home.

I was almost drooling at the wee snack she gives them f*****g dogs get better fed than me I feel sorry for guys starting out and looking at these threads for advice...... Ducking confusing this running dog caper What would you feed a saluki? A size 12 just a size 12. i thought you would have said a number 6 32gram with your love of saluki's baw
  3. where abouts are you. south wales dont narrow it down much. you got a name of a town or village.
  4. youve had a great couple of outings the young dog is doing well for you atb with him in the future. sounds like he will make you a tidy rabbit catcher.
  5. how long are the nets and what ounce are they 4,6,8 or 10?
  6. i got bit by a rat on the right hand one night whilst ratting on a pig farm. i was looking between a big square bail and a feed trough for some cattle when a terrier jumped out from inbetween them with a rat in its mouth holding it by it arse. the fecker bit me on my right hand just has the terrier shock it and by feck it stung. trip to the hospital next day as i was worried about veils disease and was told there was feck all to worry about as my tetnus was upto date. anyway week or so later my whole right arm swelled up even the gland under my armpit (i never new you had glands there), go
  7. Spot on Trigger Weirdly i had a bad feeling about Rudie before i even went Trigger, had a feeling he wasn't going to make it home. But shook it off a nonsense! I do know Rudie is not going to retire gracefully at an old age from hunting, it's just the kind of dog he is and something i have accepted. But by god he is having, and providing me with loads of fun and a happy working life in the meantime. thats what you got him for and i bet he wouldnt want it any other way.
  8. never seen one dog do it. but sometimes ive run dogs doubled up, and a couple of times ive seen another rabbit get up running in the same direction as the one the 2 dogs are allready chasing the dogs have split and caught one each. had a funny thing happen to me the other month which i dont think will ever happen again. my dog was coursing a rabbit in the lamp when another one got up and ran straight into the fence post with the barbed wire on and killed itself just has my dog was picking the one up he was coursing so i had 2 rabbits of the one slip.
  9. happy new year moll. for a moement there i was thinking you hadnt had the best of starts with your hunting season for 2014 but all was good, the feeling that something bad has just happened to your dog is not one i would wish on anyone. but the feeling when they appear all well and good is one of the best ever. its alot of emotions in a very short time. tidy enough bag aswell edited to say i was writing this as you put your reply on moll. looks as though rudies new year hasnt gone aswell as it could hopefully hes up and running a.s.a.p
  10. we were lucky enough to of had a frost the night before so the weather was ideal for a spot of ferreting.
  11. forecast is o.k in my area tonight, might go out later it all depends how bladderd the misses gets tonight as someone has to look after the little un.
  12. vice versa mate many a good dog been fecked up by vets ops not going to plan. good bone men charge feck all money and give a bloody good service but as you say each to there own.
  13. imo a top bone man is as good if not better than any vets. vets will Xray give you some pain killers tell you to rest it and write you a bloody big bill, a bloody good bone man will pop it back and give you the best advice. if you ask me the vet is like us going to the doctors when your back is out, its the same thing almost priscription for painkillers and told to rest up. when a trip to a bloody good back specialist finds the problem pops it in and sorts it out.
  14. it was nice to be able to take all the gear just incase and not have to carry any of it.
  15. like you say vin it was a nice relaxing day no stress we just plodded along nice and steady. ive just got back in from a night shift with young buster and picked up another 28 rabbits. its a shame the pocket of rabbits i was in wasnt abit bigger then perhaps i could have had a few more, ive had a good hunting session today/tonight with 12 ferreted and 28 lamped rabbits. all in all not a bad day.
  16. numbers in my are aint what they used to be but having said that i have had a good haul out of them over the last 10 years. i think disease and rimfires combined with the increase in price of head shot rabbits have played its part and had one of the biggest impacts in my area.
  17. id sell the story. if you happened to catch/shot one you would then become the leading big cat expert in britain i bet, as you was the only one to ever catch a big cat in this country my betting is you would be able to make a few quid for doing feck all after that.
  18. more dogs aint the answer mate, you just need better ones
  19. i managed 30 didnt have the rain we was forecast thank feck with the wind that was blowing.
  20. no moon and a slight breeze here, been keeping a eye on the local weather forecast all day and the wind is suppose to get upto 24mph with rain by midnight. rains in from 9 until 3am so i am going to pick my young nephew up and take him for a shine for a couple of hours. just hope the weather does as forecast should catch a couple of bunnies.

    Tea

i havent had loose tea for years used to have it all the time when i was a kid. use teabags now but ive still got the habbit of leaving the last mouth full of tea in the bottom of the cup because there was always a few bits of tea that made it through the tea strainer, it always left the last mouthfull tasting like shit from the bits. drink decafe now and still by the bucketfull lol
  23. great outing that. it spoiled my lamping a time or two when the car has been playing up, i could never concentrate on working the dog properly as i am thinking about my journey home and weather or not i can make it. got me national breakdown recovery now for 50 something quid puts the mind at rest a little i can tell you.
  24. as you say her match record speaks for itself, i believe she done the buisness.
  25. linner ferrets mate. usally a big feck off hob on a long length/ball of string. i bet ferreting was hard going them days i know one thing for sure i wouldnt have like to have been on the shovel for the local terrier men pre locator days.
