Just come back from visiting parents up there. Watkin path can be a quieter option. Miners is about the quickest but can get busy. Parking is tricky unless you are there early. Gets too busy for me so I prefer to go wild camping in other areas around there. The dogs can have a better run then. ATB.

Seen some pretty good line bred stuff years ago. Grew x Grew off proven working lines would be the best way to go I reckon.

Depends on how far you are willing to travel. Plenty of places to go. If it's just you and the dogs then that makes life easier. If you are taking the kids then you will need to stick to recognised areas as mentioned above. I've wild camped all over. If you are up at first light, leave everything as you found it and gone then nobody really bothers you. I will be getting out on Dartmoor a lot over the summer. ATB with your adventure.

That's the only thing that would put me off breeding my own litter. Think it's best to try keep it tight and breed for mates etc. Not always possible though. Just a shame people aren't honest. It's their prerogative to turn a dog down if they turn up and things don't seem right i.e. Kennels are in crap state or all of a sudden the sire can't be viewed, or pups are in poor condition. Been looking for a pup for my mate and have been shocked at some litters. These dogs will suit someone and they look in great condition, as do their kennels. ATB with them.

Have spoken to Kev and I will be coming along. Not fishing on the Sunday though. As Kev said, I'm happy to bring a few of my kayaks along and look at getting out on the Saturday. If anyone is keen to get out then we can sort closer to the time. No charge for the use of kayaks or equipment but I would expect a contribution into the charity pot!!

Do Foxes Take Poultry ?
white van man replied to neil cooney's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I have buried pork to use as bait for training Cadaver search dogs. Some pieces are no bigger than a thumb. The bait is normally buried a good couple of feet down and wrapped in cloth. Foxes dig them up on a regular basis. Had some bait that's been there for a good couple of months un touched. Went up the other day and foxes had dug it up. -
He looks strong. Can see why people think he has bull in him. I have a saluki collie grey. Very similar. A lot of people ask me how much bull is in him. Nice looking dog and pack you have there. ATB.

Yeah like the look of him.

Come on mate.....he's good for some banter and handy if you need sheep clearing out of a field!! Takes a good photo though

Havnt posted much this season due to the runner taking a knock a couple of months back. His tendon on the right hand toe had come away and at one point it looked like it might have had to come off. Vet tried a few things and luckily with lots of rest and lead walks he has started to come good. Shame really as he was really getting there early on in the season and was doing really well. On the plus side it's given me some time to concentrate on the busher pup. Had a couple of walks out recently and they have started to come together as a team. Will have to save the lamping and ferreting fo

Sent you a PM mate

Cracking looking dog. Sure she will be spot on for the job and something a bit different. Are you getting her officially qualified? NASDU etc?

I have fed raw since my dogs were pups. I don't ever weigh out the portions. I prefer to just see what works, keep an eye on their condition and adjust from there. Each dog is different. Mine get a mix of rabbit, tripe, beef trim, lamb ribs, chicken carcass, mackerel, any off cuts. They also get any scraps. Depends what's in the freezer really. I just try and mix it up and vary it a bit. ATB

Some on pets 4 homes. Mix of beardie/border. Bit pricey IMO but at least they are from working stock and look in good condition. ATB with your search.

Any Updates On The Litter Dean Flute Bred?
white van man replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
They will be 3 in June mate. My dog is doing well and he is doing everything I want. Next season will be the true time to tell. This season I have really stepped things up and he's been out a lot more lamping and ferreting. I also got myself a busher and it's brought him on no end. -

I have a spaniel terrier and he's coming on fine. Have been out with spaniels that are spot on and go out regularly with a terrier which is cracking. I wouldn't be without a busher now. Bit of good advice I was given is find a worker to worker bred litter that is doing what you want. Doesn't really matter what X it is as long as they are doing the job you want. Think the rest is luck.

what size has it made He's 13" ish at the moment. Struggling to measure him properly
