  1. He’s a cracker. I seen this litter grow from a couple of days old. Have seen a few grow into fine dogs. If the timing was right I would have certainly had one. How tall is he?
  2. That’s my type of ground for a good days walk out. Dog looks strong and Looks a perfect cross for those hills. Going to start doing a lot more of it and when I get more time I will head out with overnight kit and make a couple of days of it. You cant beat a solid mark. Either to ground or in cover.
  3. I will give him a shout and we can get on the moors. Blue has been working well but had a bad knock on Saturday. He’s going to be out for a few weeks I reckon. Got the busher here so still need to get out.
  4. Virge we need to get out again. We had a cracking day up the burrows that time. Haven’t seen Nige since he was a pup but heard good things!
  5. Between our little group we used to post a lot......work kind of gets in the way of things!
  6. A few but the dogs have to cover a lot of ground and get their nose down to find them
  7. They need to be hardy whatever the breed. I don’t hunt forest but hunted in the hills a lot as a kid and have started again the last year or so. As Wales1234 said...they have to cover ground as things rarely jump up in front of you. I don’t put tracking collars on my dogs. I like to keep them in sight as much as possible. Recall is key for me. I would say mine tend to range no more than a few hundred metres away. I’m normally high up and watch them work the low ground.
  8. Was good to catch up with you and Micky. Great day out and much needed. I think you will find my dig was 2 foot with a few tree roots chucked in!!
  9. Take it you will be looking to put something across your bull x in the future?
  10. I would have been happy for a week too.
  11. Ha forgot about that! After he stole a rabbit off my dog he sprinted back to his owner before my dog could nick it back!!
  12. He’s a lump. Was out with him the other day. He’s got a cracking temperament and he’s going to shape up to be a good one. Going to be a big strong dog.
  13. He’s spaniel terrier mate. Various spaniels various terriers!
  14. Cheers Phil. Yep it’s a cracking spot. You could spend all day up there and still only cover half of it. Both the dogs are coming on now that I have a bit more time.
  15. Managed to get an early finish today and was working up North Devon. Decided to head out to one of my favourite mooching spots. Plenty of rabbits around and not many people. It’s a brilliant way to sharpen the dogs up and to keep them fit. Plenty of runs but due to lots of cover and warrens it’s hard to catch. Could do with a bigger pack......maybe one day!! Theres one in here....get the busher Quick look before heading in Bit of over watch while the busher is working the cover up from the lower ground Chase is on.....where’s the runner
  16. Heard a lot about him. Well he’s certainly passed some of it down. One of the dog pups is supposed to be a cracker. Will hopefully get out with him soon.
  17. No mate that’s the dam. Pup didn’t come out with us that day. I have seen a few of the litter that Danny bred from her. They have turned out real crackers.
  18. Up on the north moor near meldon. You got some decent areas down your end though ?
  19. Think she is about 2 years old. Newkid bought it for his wife and was told not to turn it into a hunter!!! It’s by no way from working stock but one day she tagged along......she will go into cover and she always tags along with us. I have seen her latch onto a rabbit and she will not let go!! Funny how instinct and hanging around with other dogs can change things.
  20. He’s a spaniel x terrier. Litter brother to squab and squirrel dogs who post in the bushing section a fair bit.
  21. They were probably in there somewhere mate. Doesn’t seem to hold a big amount this time of year.
