  1. Has the makings of a week long arguement.?
  2. It's best to start by switching to white light to run the dog. If the dog is one of those that realise they can still see a bit in the red you can start to switch for appropriate short runs, especially on squatters. To begin it needs patience as it's hard to tell if the dog can really see the rabbit. (He can smell it) I find juggling lamp, filter and slip awkward so mostly don't use a filter. Has anyone a good hinge system for the filter?
  3. Get off your ass and try it out Sandy. I'm interested in your feedback.?
  4. Any idea how the others turned out? They were 7/8 greyhound weren't they?
  5. Same here here. She looks a belter.
  6. It's good to see the pups grow and have pick of litter too but in my case it aint practical. Something like jigsaw's litter off of here was a great option for the lads that got pups. I got my current young one from a family of dogs I'd been following the progress of and I'm pleased enough with him.
  7. I live in a small council house with four running dogs. I've bred pups before and would again but not in these circumstances, besides which, unless your bitch is a bit special you could probably buy better than you could breed if you look around carefully.
  8. Not long in myself with the young dog. Took him for an hour or so and he got a couple which are now skinned, jointed, and in the freezer.
  9. What age is he Redace? I've got a pup bred like that, just coming up to 12 months of age and looking v. similar. I thought he must have something like that in his breeding because of the rough hair over his shoulders.
  10. Hope they're not totally gone. It'll be a bit sad if they are. Just before Christmas I found a pile of various carcasses including hares, just shot and dumped in the brambles in one of the blocks. Why would anyone lamp stuff with a rifle just to dump it, mindless b*****ds.(I'm presuming it was lamped). Can't see what enjoyment was in that.
  11. Did you poke around the lowland forestry blocks? In this kind of weather they seem to go down off the hill into sheltered places. I think they don't like the rain much.
  12. Watch out for the hobs fighting when they become sexually mature. You may ned to separate them or get them castrated.
  13. Hancock the lurcher breeder was never an "old colonel". That's a different David hancock which with your lack of knowledge of the prices of his pups is making you sound like a liar.
  14. the one I bought was a brindle rough coated bitch and was 200 quid. I still have her and retired her last season due to recurring lameness (aged ten).
  15. That was a genuine question as I thought maybe he had bred some special lines. Even by the 2,000s the quarter breds were only 2000. I bought one and still have her. Maybe he didn't like you LOL.
  16. Which ones cost 500 notes? I never heard of that before.
  17. I'm probably wrong but I thought it was to do with "scrapy" in sheep. People ate mutton a lot more when I was a youngun.
  18. I remember him. Had a little bitch called mouse, supposed to be bred off Lucky? Is he still on here? doesn't seem to post.
  19. Yes, best of luck with her Blacky. She looks a goodun to me.
  20. Can't beat the old whipadoodles. was it two grand then?
  21. They can use him for young boxers to practise on now.
  22. She definately has the make and shape of a deerhound bred pup. I'd be surprised if she doesn't make around 25 inches at least.
  23. I just don't get it. Why would anyone buy one? Done Deal in Ireland has stopped putting lurcher ads up altogether. Sorry, that should be dog adds. The world has gone mad.
