  1. Ffs, score the goal you need then concede a minute or so later, needed to hold that lead.... Can't disagree with you Stewie, it'll be interesting to see if UTD can bring players in, and who? Valencia should stay onside for the goal in the first half; he's looking along the line Ffs, the goals against we're soft... But thats they way it goes.. Moyes??? I'm gonna hold my tongue for a bit yet, but with Morhino and guardihola showing their tactical nous these last couple of nights ( well all season and before lol), the knives will be out... Right quick prawn sandwhich and off to bed, l
  2. Right wash up and down the pub, come on UTD... Oh and why the f**k was I screaming Chelsea on last night, what a game... Great result, hopefully some of the same for us tonight.. Z
  3. i retired at 50 it gets boring as fook all my mates are still working the mrs carried on working ---- i started back part time.. Part time?... Joking aren't ya lol
  4. Stayed in a Korean place on the old Newport -Cardiff road, I used to take my rods away a lot so is stay out of the pub. The Korean owner and chef in this place was brilliant, the while family lived there grandma, grandad an uncle and all his kids wife etc, it was a funny old place.... I'd take him back fish I'd caught to cook up, mainly cod or whiting and I also was dragged out into his kitchen to show him how to skin dogfish lol... One day he said " you catch me eel fiss".. Ok I thought and a week or do later took him a strap conger about 5lb or so... " no no no, this is not eel fiss".... "
  5. I'm glad you wrote that mate, my sentiments entirely, no strong views personally on Geldoff, but he seemed very family orientated to me, taking on another mans child so she could grow up with her siblings showed a lot of class IMO ( I think he fought the grandmother for custody?).... Can not even attempt to imagine the pain of losing a child, something I'd imagine you could never recover from...
  6. Working away is shit and great in equal measures. Roofing and cladding all over the country, ended up putting up Tescos, single ply flat roofs then the cold store panels, Done a huge waitrose in Bracknell, got on the roof of this cold store and it seemed never ending, was on it on my birthday, pissing down with rain, pitch black with tower lights on the roof.. I wanted to do 1000m2 that day (33 rolls), we had 3 to go and it was about 6pm. All the boys were huddled under this tower light, " come on Kev lets f**k off and go have a beer, it's your birthday Ffs".... We laid the 3 rolls in a 20 m
  7. Great post mate... Love that last sentence, infact I'm nicking that one as my own lol
  8. I think what's meant is there's a huge difference between money making you happy and money curing cking so deporession... If we go back to the thread, I think she was maybe 10 or 11 when her mother died, she's now a 25 year old woman with 2 children of her own both very young, now whose to say that the feeling of loss resurfaced, perhaps she hasn't grieved or ever came to terms with the loss of her mother, now maybe she is suffering with post natal depression... and she is desperate, not unhappy... Money would not cure or ease that at all... It's all hypothetical to add weight to my argument
  9. Such a silly naive comment to make..............what is happy ?......material things ?...................money buys you nice things and puts you in a nice position........but without family/friendships/relationships you dont have happiness................. Its one of the oldest sayings in the book ... " The best things in life are free " Amen to that mate, I'm a firm believer in you only get out of life what you put in, but f**k would I say a few quid makes me nearly as happy as the free things you mention....
  10. f**k me mate," altered with chemicals", what "chuck him/ her the pills and theyll be fine".... It's weird you know an aunt of mine after losing her husband in a car crash ( my dads brother) was so depressed even electric shocks to her head didn't help, strange that... A life time of depression but I suppose if you'd chucked her a mill she would've been right as rain I'm sure we've all got a lot of shit we've seen, heard about and think we know, from my first hand experience of it, I would not take clinical depression lightly, it can f**k up families, plus it never seems to be complete gone..
  11. The threads off on a tangent... And we've no idea how she died ( well apart from dare lol)... But money can make you happier but it's not the answer to everything...there's a huge difference between being a bit miserable and feeling down on your luck, to being clinically depressed and unfortunately all the money in the world will never solve that... Unless you've witnessed it or been so unfortunate to suffer from it them you would never understand,
  12. What a great opportunity for her Socks, she's got the brightest of futures by the sounds of it, hats off to the girl. I drum it into mine all the time, put the work in and it will pay off, as proven with your daughter. But........... like you I'd be thinking the same, you want the best but preferably nice and close by
  13. 2 of my good mates lost a parent each to suicide, one was only 14 when it happened, and it's affected his whole life. the other happened fairly recently My lads best mate at schools mother committed suicide, when he was a baby, me and his Dad took the lads to Old Trafford for a game and stayed up the night, we talked about it a bit, and the depth of depression some people are in is unfathomable ( if you have never felt it, which most of us never will), money, fame etc has no bearing on this, yes they can be deemed as selfish, and those left behind will always wonder why, but none of us will
  14. 25 is no age, 2 babies as well, he's had to take a lot in the chin old Bob, Rip
  15. FFS I was only joking when I said I hope Liverpool win it, thats enough now this aint funny any more....... What a great run in this could be, Arsenal as usual implode, it's going to be a close run thing I think Liverpool are 2-1 to win the title, any of you scouse supporters gonna have punt?
  16. Only once in the York hall, I was helping in the corner, my best mate was in the aba semi finals........ Lost to an east end lad, no idea of his name but was a decent boxer, this was around 20 odd years ago lol.... The atmosphere that gnash talks about is right, you just know your in a place that is full of history, you can feel it...

  22. I can feel your smugness coming through the screen lolYou won't be so smug next year once the mighty Moyes has out together the best UTD side since fergies fledglings...Ronaldo back, and we'll steal toure off of city... Plus Cahill from chelski... To play alongside the one that slipped away pique...Oh and Messi is coming to old Trafford....Deluded you say????....... Loleven getting the old "next year" chestnut now Ah f**k it...... Liverpool to finish 4th.... UTD win CL..... Oh how we we get pissed and sing at the scousers expense lol.... I'm dreading you after a couple of beer
  23. The problem with you mate is your old fashioned lol
  24. We're all football fans mate.... And that gives us a god given right to know more about football than the highly qualified and highly paid man in charge of our football clubs... Surely you know that by now lol
