Oh and a firm local to here, agricultural type builders have lost 2 blokes off of roofs and my brothers brother in law (who learnt the trade with us) fell 30ft through a roof and survived (working for them).. everytime because they scrimp.on safety to protect the workers, no safety nets and scaffold.. greed that's all... id rather never win a job than scrimp on the basics to keep the lads safe, ours is a dangerous job, so make it as safe as you can

Wow!! What a mad thread! Having walked many miles late at night with a close mate of mine who was struggling after his 2nd tour of Afghanistan, he needed to walk and talk..so we did... another mate (again a Marine), never been the same if im honest, he was a sniper, again i think he done 2 6month tours in Afghanistan.. weve been mates since 12 years old... ive worked in construction all my life, mainly working at heights, ran big gangs of lads, fairly large businesses, nationwide work and all the stress that goes with it... not even close imo.. these lads see things and do things which us

Never thiught id have an electric vehicle, but the tax man has forced it really, full relief on electric, nothing on my old diesel Raptor.. Got to say i like it though, goes like shit off a shovel, 0-60 in 5 seconds abd weighs around 2.5t.. still a big unit (i hate small cars).. got a couple of hybrid transits coming on Monday, so old couple of older vans and truck will be gone .. hopefully see the benefit next April... f***ing hate the tax man lol Sad to see it go But, this ain't a bad yoke

Muslims messing with us? I get the sentiment completely mate, in that we have areas in this country that are changed forever because of Muslim communities... but smashing the shit out of Iran doesn't change that, in fact it will make it worse. We've got pretty much everything wrong for nigh on 40 years, we are living in the result of that.. it feels a bit like every other war in the middle east, where the end result is we smash the place to.bits (the place we want them.to stay and live), then take the bounty, oil. This war could be messier than ones before as there is real interest from e

Ive been thinking about Starmers stance on this one, and i am no fan of the bloke, but he might be about right. Everytime weve gone smashing into countries, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria etc the outcome is severe distabilsation and swathes of migrants fleeing ended up in Europe, this war will be no different, but the hatred towards west could be bigger than anything weve seen... I think we need to realise there is the start of a shift in power, Starmer visited China not so long ago and started the process of decent trade agreements, China could be the biggest winner from this war eventually...

Watched I Swear on Netflix last night, about the lad with Tourettes, really enjoyed it, funny, sad, thought provoking... decent watch imo

You know, I didnt mind staying a couple if nights in Golders Green a few years back when I had a couple of meetings in the area.. However, I wasn't as keen on Tower Hamlet when I met an Egyptian there one evening for some work, he was pleasant enough to be fair...but there was a stark difference in the 2 areas, I know which one i preffered... just saying

A whole day of writing Construction phase plans, Risk Assesments, marked up google earth images with lay down areas and pedestrian zones.. collating RAMS from all the other trades to add to the CDM file...so we can start a job next week that 20 years ago we would've rocked up and cracked on without any of this bullshit....f***ing hate Health and Safety!! Lol

My Dad's the same with Ali mate, says Ali was his hero, too. Ali is called the Greatest for a reason, and I don't think anyone will ever take that from him... im not one for trying to guess if a boxer from one era would beat another, the bottom line is he beat some of the hardest men to ever get in a ring, that era of Heavies was special and Ali was considered the best of the bunch.... I watched Cinderella Man, again, the other night, what a great story of battling through hardship to eventual success. I think boxing more than any other sport is littered with those types of stories.

Its brilliant mate, all his stuff is.. I could bore you with my Fort Worth/Landman experiences... but i wont lol

I was listening to Steve Bunce earlier, discussing the John Fury shit, and he put that to bed nicely. But more interestingly (for me) was hos virw on the current boxing scene, he stated that it is the best irs ever been and a month worth of fights now is better than a years worth in the 70s and 80s... his point was there's are over 2000 pro boxers now and back in the 70s there was 650 or so... so we are getting more fights than ever... he said he'd watched all these eras first hand and the best is now... I was born 76 so started my interest in the mid 80s, loved Hagler, named my first do
