Once ferreted an outbuilding.
The rabbits were behind the hard board panelling that lined the wall'
Also had one five foot or so up the middle of a tree
Just go off the dog, although some times it does get you scratching your head
Shes the double of a dog i once had.
Cant remember the exact breeding but there was bedlington in there for sure.
Hope you get what you want from her.
Certainly looks promising
Easier said than done
You need loads of kills on the lamp
That way the penny should drop
Dont slip on anything your not sure of catching
Sould take the keeness out of her if you can tire the dog as well
Had a walk around this morning.
Not a lot of rabbits about.
Dog played a blinder.
Worked hedge after hedge.
Marked just the three small sets.
Dug to the first rabit. The dog snaffled the second rabbit which came out of an un netted hole in the hedge. The last set produced another single rabbit.
Without the dog we would have at to settle for a blank.sO Im really pleased wih the dogs progress.
It isnt always about numbers. Its great to be out in that autumn sunshine mooching about with ferret and dog
Caught and ate plenty with yellow fat around there kidneys
Always seemed to be maize about when the fat was yellow
might be coincidence.
Maybe someone will shed light on it
Theres a good chance they will kick off when they meet up in the warren.
Its a bitch to get them out if this happens.
I would make sure they have been introdced before working as a team
If a ferrets not firing on all four it will run the rabbits around.Once the rabbit gets itself in a stop end the ferret will more than likely call it a day.
Happens a lot when a ferret has had a lot of work.
You need another to share the graft
If the dogs a good un its got to be a lack lustre effort on the ferrets part.
They can have an off day.
Put your mates ferret in then- usually sorts it out
Never had a problem with the wire thats used for protection against rabbits.
A strong hob will bite through standard chicken wire.
Weldmesh would be my first choice if i had it knocking about
I have worked a saluki lurcher for three seasons
Its made a decent alround rabbiting dog.
Just got to be a bit more aware of the dogs sensativity.
Workrate is spot on
