  1. get them familier with each other first A good hob or two serves our purpose 22 a couple of week ago with just the one I think jills, especially the smaller type need to be rotated or they will tire and leave the stubborn rabbits under ground. However i find we dig less on the jills Every animal must have a shut of point. its just a matter of reading your ferrets and rotating when necessary
  2. You dont need to pay anyone getting stuck in should be payment enough
  3. In the right place and with a decent dog no problem
  4. hare coursing intercoursing Its all cuntrey sport innit
  5. The dogs catching Just keep at it and you shuld have a nice soft mouthed dog
  6. mine will come to the net and then go back. It usually means theres a rabbit at home When hes done he tries to get through the net. Im sure the nets annoy him somewhat
  7. Lampjing hares with a good dog is going to be very productive. Lamping hares with an average dog is going to turn them hares into rockets the next time they are shown the lamp
  8. Dufle coat Had it three seasons now. Completley thorn barbwire and bramble proof
  9. Another one of those hand me downs that doesnt wear out. Hunting is to be part of the natural world.
  10. Complete guess as there are so many things that have to be considered. Id go for six Hope you prove me wrong and catch one or two more
  11. hedgehog Hows the terrier bred Any pictures
  12. I prefer them gutted as soon as possible. Ive hung them for over a week in winter.
  13. Probebly had one up a stop end. Sometimes if the ferret is aggressive the rabbit will realise its time to leave and make abolt for freedom. Happenned today on a one holer
  14. deffo, iv even seen bunnys run past some holes an bolt out others close by, surely they should have exited by the closest hole?? but maybe the light has summat to do way them seeing the net against the sky?? i aint got an exact answer, but im pretty sure bunnys either use prefered holes to bolt, or they can see nets on some of the holes an choose to either face the ferret or try for another hole, we have seen it a few times this season alone When not under pressure a rabbit is a pretty cute charachter deffo, see some strange things happening when ye out ferreting, we once seen a bunn

  17. Probebly not in them particular holes. Try a few setts that are out of the water table with a nice bit of light cover over the top Rabbits like the dry and will move out if there comfort is compromised
  18. If i was in the same position it would make no difference. If the dogs keen i would work him as often as i could. He might quieten down a bit when is confidence is boosted Then again he might not. either way i wouldnt be loosing any sleep over it
  19. When they wont move i always swop the jills for strong hobs. Surprisingly they sometimes get the rabbits on the move. Failing that they are dug too. If we left t hose that the jills had a hard time with our end of day bag would be poor
  20. prob better ask the gundog lads that one, as lurchers well mine will go in cover if there is (somthing) there. And i think the differnce is springer or terrier, will just go (looking) through cover for game if its there or not, thats why they get infront And most times i not far from the dog, and norm other lurchers will wait outside ready for the bolt, from Bryn my lurcher. He does great job and easy to keep up with not like a hot headed springer lol An expirenced lurcher wont go smashing through cover at speed. He will take is time and air scent every bit of likely cover. A s
