Hullo mate I think any beginner to longnetting would do very well to get themselves a copy of Martin Kings Longnetting from peg to peg before they start spending any more of thier hard earned cash .
Apart from being a bloody good read it's very informative .

Couldn't agree with you more . Keeping and working nasty ferrets soon bcomes a chore that can lead eventually to neglect and the sickener is that it take so little effort to hand train a ferret

If you're thinking of getting one done mate, make sure the vets done it before .
It's amazing how many vets still don't have much of a clue about ferrets

The problem with not bringing jills out of season is that it leaves them vunerable to infections, in the long term it has been blamed for the onset of oesteoperosis (bet I spelt that wrong) i any case it's not the responsible thing to do is it ?

Good question mate, everyone will have a different answer but I still like The Complete Book of Ferrets by Val Porter if you can still get it or have a look at Simon Whiteheads books they're pretty good too

It was a good idea to come on here and ask questions mate but I honestly think you should buy a good book on the subject (I like The Complete Book of Ferrets by Val Porter) before you actually invest in a couple of ferrets .
