  1. The more I'm reading in the youtube comments the more I'm starting to think it's a total fake.
  2. I get that they would be more technologically advanced than us, but this is a physical problem. It's a very simple physical scenario, an object travelling at high velocity through the atmosphere. I find it hard to believe an object of such significant size to be view-able miles away would not create a significant disturbance. Even bullets of tiny cross section make a boom. That thing looked a fair bit bigger than a bullet. At this point I'm inclined to say it's virtual or a image processing artefact, not real. It looks real as f**k though.
  3. I don't know of any conceivable way of achieving that though. If the object has any size at all then it will be disturbing air as it travels through it. You can optimise the geometry of course but to what point, I don't know. The 'UFO' didn't exactly look like an object that would have negligible cross section either....
  4. But I'm not convinced that that doesn't still disturb the air in a similar way to a regular super/hyper sonic projectile.
  5. I don't know how that works but the propulsion system isn't the cause of a sonic boom, sonic boom are caused by the act of an object pushing its way through the air. Unless this 'gravity wave engine' thing stops the air being disturbed by the 'aircraft' then there is still a sonic boom.
  6. I'm also amazed that there was no ear bleeding boom from such a high velocity object. Not sure how aliens would overcome that particular phenomena....
  7. Based on the alleged distance travelled in 1s it is travelling at similar speeds to top end hypersonic missiles. I'm not saying they are capable of replicating that 'ufo' manoeuvrability, I don't know, but it's ballpark the same speed.
  8. I've been to see it twice in the past month or so. It's a magnificent tribute. It's also the second time that this has happened. This was taken just before Christmas.
  9. Agreed. My brother had one and we both found it horrible. See them plenty though so I guess many do like them.
  10. Had a few evenings on one of our ponds this season. 23 picked between four guns on Saturday. Best part about it for me is the dog work, working this little fella. He's got the job sussed now, sitting quietly and patiently, watching the duck zooming around and I can be fairly sure when cast off into the twilight that he has the initiative and experience to find the bird with no handling so I can remain focused on what's coming in. I always go the next morning and pick a few more that other guns couldn't find, managed to find 3 on Sunday at daybreak. Pic of Sund
  11. God, they're terrifyingly ugly! Not a chance I'd want one of those on the wall staring back at me everyday!
  12. Just done 3 episode binge. Totally agree. Last season was slow but tied up that plot line I guess. This one seems very good.
  13. So the answer to the OP is no then?
  14. Personally I think we should be banning very bloody little. I'd much rather see those who find that culture abhorrent show the value of a better way to behave, set an example of being a gentleman. Make being a decent civilised human with manors and class cool again... I believe it's coming back, just kids aren't exposed to it as it's not really in the mainstream music scene at all. They're all f***ing degenerates.
  15. The last decade of comic book films has a lot to answer for! Gullible prats! You're right though, that was brilliant.
  16. I think it's great that there are people who enter these beasts world. So what if it's risky, life's for living. What a phenomenal experience. To quote Jurassic Park III:
  17. To me 243 is a cross over calibre, a one rifle do all. If you already have a 223 why not go for something a bit bigger and arguably more appropriate as a dedicated deer calibre? Someone will have a f***ing breakdown now because I have suggested a different calibre. Sorry
  18. Since I started watching Meat Eater on Netflix it's put me off these outdoorsman type reality shows. There's no BS drama with Steve Rinella.
  19. Didn't two retired SAS troopers get involved last time in that shopping mall attack? Not actively engaging the attackers, but providing assistance to help save lives.
  20. I think I'm going to stick with Kuiu myself. I'm due to be in the US in June so going to get a few bits ordered then.
  21. I've been reading a fair few hunting articles from your side of the pond recently. Interesting stuff. What sort of hunting do you do mate? Given your choice of dogs I'm guessing upland and waterfowl? Whereabouts are you from in the States?
  22. Read this historical piece a while back. Few anecdotes regarding badgers and foxes. Bottom line, opinion differs but the author believed they do kill cubs. Personally I’m not sure it’d be that significant.
