    I'll see what I can find mate. Difficult to give good advice without putting the stuff through the rigours for a season but I'll give my first impressions to you at least.

    I don't have much experience with either of those brands but I still think I'd be investing in Sitka personally. The fact they are licensed to use genuine Gore Tex is a big deal in my mind. PS Just seen Kuiu are gonna be at Jagd und Hund in Dortmund this week. Really looking forward to getting there this weekend to see their range in the flesh!

    They are the Nordkapp. As you can maybe remember I have the Gamekeepers already, had Sneekers before and got a pair of their desert boots (mil surp) for summer kicking around too. I wanted these specifically for their A-form heel which is just a more snug fitting heel and as a lighter alpine style boot compared to the very bulky Gamekeeper. The Gamekeepers are fine and great for a hard day's work hunting but not sure I'd want to be wearing them day in day out. A mate who I do the terriers with wears the Defenders and so does another mate I used to go beating with. Both rate them.

    There seems to be a trend currently to hardly cut anything off the pups tail. Plenty of docked tails these days still having problems because of trialers wanting flashing looking style. I like to see a nice short dock. I'd rather the minimum was left on than the minimum taken off.

    Fair enough mate. Do you wash them in TX Direct or something similar? Were they the ones with the hytena reinforcing? Mine wee just the regular ones and I wash them normally and they were shite for water proofing within a season.

    I had the Ram trousers years ago. Best fitting and warm trousers I've ever owned but not at all waterproof. What I really liked about them was the design, particularly the rifle bolt pocket which was perfect for holding a sheath knife. Much more discrete than having it on your belt. I'd probably have another pair just as fair weather winter bottoms. But tbh a pair of moleskins are as good as anything. If it's bad add some base bottoms and overtrousers.

    Just bought a load of marino base layers in the sales. Only used synthetic before. Fantastic stuff. Coupled with packable insulation layer and a hard shell hooded jacket it makes the shittiest weather completely tolerable. And frankly, for some, really shit weather survivable. Marino base would benefit anyone in the outdoors. Just f***ing pricey!

    With that amount of foxes about I'd be organising a morning of fox drives. Couple walking guns with dogs and two or three standing. It can be a lot of fun on foxy land. But that's because lamping is a fecking chore in my mind. LOL

    Well said. As implausible as it may seem it's not impossible that the accused is innocent. There must be the offer of a fair trial no matter the weight of evidence in the public domain. If it's open and shut as it seems then there'll be no trial needed. He'll plead guilty for leniency at sentencing.

    I've just read that Jupiter is the 'star' next to Venus in the morning at the moment too. It's pretty cool. I suspected it was either Jupiter or Saturn as pretty much all actual stars are outshone that time of morning with only planets and the moon visible.

    I was going off of the guys informal 'witness statement'. I think he said he was a few hundred feet away and heard and saw nothing unusual, hence their surprise when reviewing the footage.

    It's lovely when the sun makes an appearance on these chillier days. It was beautiful at about 7am this morning. Venus and the moon wee so bright there was hardly anything else visible and with the ground white with hard frost it was almost like daylight.

    That's a really valid point. I suspect that biological intelligent life progresses to a point of becoming a technological species ie there comes a point when they merge with tech and eventually completely transfer their consciousness to some sort of machine body, rather than biological one. When that happens, time become somewhat meaningless. Basically Battlestar Galactica (the re-imagined series). LOL

    Possible, yes. Probably, no. IMO there is likely life, even likely to be intelligent life, out there.
