At work everyday, believe it or not. Today my esteemed colleagues have a f***ing AI robot vacuum cleaner to setup and then observe it's behaviour learning the office environment! Past few weeks it's been vintage video games in the conference room at lunch. I despair! The stereotype is real!

I did this fella that way. But he was still fresh when dunked in. Can’t imagine it’ll make a difference.

Probably better options but I'd submerge it in a bucket of water up to the horn bases and leave it out of the way in a shed somewhere. The flesh will putrefy after a couple of months (1 month if it's warm out) and literally 'slip' off the bone. I'd then wash it well and peroxide it to death! TBH after a couple of days in the water all the dried flesh will probably have re-hydrated and be in a state to boil and clean the conventional way.

I dare say the thirty aught six has killed more deer, large game and bears in North America than any other calibre. Not a bad place to start the conversation based on that. My thoughts are that there's an awfully big difference between a 1500lb bull moose and a 50lb roe doe! Ideally youd have something in the 6 to 7mm range and then something like a 338. Frankly mate, this probably ain't the forum for the experienced opinions of large and dangerous game hunters. @Ted Newgent is the only one that comes to mind.

Seen that all over Instagram! Great picture.

I intend to take a million and videos.

I'm likely gonna be in Texas again in June. Last time I went NYC after. Was gonna go DC this time but got a mind to go Yellowstone or Tetons rather than city break. Only really want to be there say 5 days. Ideally I will find somewhere I'm in the thick of it and can f**k off with a daysack each day exploring. Any advice or experience anyone?

I'm sure it'll be an adventure. I'm chuffed I managed to get a direct flight to Sydney. Literally knocks a whole day off the return journey. Hope I get at least a moment of clear sky one night in the southern alps. This is way more than a hunting trip, albeit it's all hunting, lol.

Well, end of April I fly out there for three weeks. Booked today. Furthest anyone has ever travelled for a new shag pile.

Dug back through the thread a year and he said his season ends mid January for the cubs. Think they start in summer though yeah.

It's a shame to not see a single post from Blaise this season...

Squirrel day is the best day of the season If all the shooting I had was proper squirrel days and pigeon roosting then I'd consider myself a lucky fella.

If I could get it at half price I'd be buying shit loads.
-
RS, do you have any pictures of your time working Otters you mind posting? I'm not after anything graphic but it'd be good to see the sort of places you work your dogs.

I like the layering strategy personally. It works for me. But I haven't bought into a single brand, I've got different bits from all sorts, lol. If you can get the stuff half price you could probably make a few quid privately shipping stuff to individuals in the UK. I'm due to be in Houston in June and intend to buy a few more Kuiu bits and get them delivered to the hotel. Save me a few quid on tax and shipping that way.

First I'd like to make it clear that I haven't really tested it so my opinion is a bit speculative. I bought it as a semi casual outdoors jacket that I could wear out and about as well as in the field without looking too much like a 'hunting hero' in public. It's well made and high quality. I'd buy more of their stuff personally. That said, Kuiu is primarily a mountain hunting brand, imo it sacrifices durability for lightweight. Very lightweight! I'm not sure how long it would last if I started smashing through thorns like i do in my Harkila hard shell. Also this Guide Jacket is not fully

Nearly six months now. I don’t think he’ll win any shows but probably finish around 13tts and 17lb. Ideal for what I want. Dug to the grandsire again over Xmas which is always nice.

I'd appreciate that, mik, thanks.

Was there yesterday too mate. Were you? I had a little fell pup in tow. Newark is a nice traditional place for a meet, but car colston is the better imo. -
Lol, I'm not saying that's all but they're important bits that are missed out of most westerners diets. I personally eat bread, cake, chocolate, burgers, pizzas etc too. Haha

Per bird or per Gun? That's not bad either way given that you will probably only shoot a brace. Thanks for asking. A driven do local to me went 60k in overages! I don't think we Can really compare to pheasant though. The two appeal to a very different kinds of Gun.

What sort of money are we talking? If it's that expensive, it's probably not what I'm looking for tbh. I don't want to pay someone to do all the work for me.

Anybody shot/hunted Ptarmigan in the UK (Scotland)? Sounds like a wild adventure. I'm interested in a jaunt for the 2019 season.

From a health perspective I believe it's not the meat that's the problem, it's the total absence from a persons diet of the stuff that the meat typically replaces. Fruit, veg, legumes, nuts, seeds and fibre, even fish. Many Westerners essentially live on processed meat and carbohydrates. Drinking a glass of fresh orange juice or having a bit of salad next to their burger occasionally doesn't remedy that and frankly a typical vegan diet is probably better than a typical Westerners diet for that reason.
