Yes, hares should only be handled by experienced folk or they'll suffer. Gate netting hares is easy enough . Handling them is the hard part and can only be done by licence in Eire.

Fine fox, well done.

Rooks Interested In Nests In Winter.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mild spells are bringing animals out of hibernation. There's a few Small Tortoiseshells around my house and you'll hear them fluttering against the windows on a sunny day and the other day I lifted a rock and there was a frog underneath it. I moved it to somewhere safer but the warmth of my hands soon had it full awake. Hope it's alright. -

I seen the same the other day and put it down to the unseasonable weather. Rooks use the same trees every year but some years they'll build higher than other years. Or lower in some cases. The old wives tale of the sign of a good Spring is when the Rooks build high in the trees. But I was surprised to see them standing in their nest's the other day. Murder it was. -
Except PK I couldn't see Tarka jumping from the top of a wardrobe to a dresser and then swinging out of a light, LOL.

What A Bargain.................not!!

On the left of that add there's a description of the pups. On the right there's advice on how to stop puppy farming. The word hypocrisy springs to mind. -
But only a little bit Briggo, Mr B's answer throws a spanner in the works. Would a small private pack have it's own buttons ? Let us know how you get on.

I looked in the book "A chain of bubbles" by Rod Adair for you. The Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire Otterhounds button is marked PCOH. In the chapter on buttons he lists Unidentified Otter Hunt Buttons and for the button POH he says "P O H silver domed one piece button, raised POH in old English on a frosted background. No back mark." Hope this helps and maybe someone on here could tell you more. Or a letter in Hounds magazine perhaps ?

My brother's Man Cave wouldn't be far off that including his large collection of Craft Beers. That's why I'm never left alone in it.

Great photo, and here's my take on it. Look at the younger hounds, heads up, mouths open speaking. Second or third season hounds looking at the boss awaiting instruction. There's two old timers IMO, heads level just waiting for him to blow "moving off". No big deal to them. Just another day at the office.

Another thing, not aimed at anyone, but lads should have photos of all their dogs at home in clean condition (preferably being hugged by a toddler, LOL.) rather than photos taken in the field. If you do have to hand out pics or post on the net you're doing yourself no favours with working photos. JMHO.

The main thing is you got your dog back. Firstly I would have that dog in the vet this morning for a check up not only to cover your ass in case of a visit but also to ensure the dog's not pick up something from the shitholes they call "shelters". Secondly, I would make as big a complaint as possible to the way you were treated in what after all was blackmail in trying to get your own property back.

Great job. Is it going on a pedestal Rob ?

I agree with every post so far. "You can't educate pork". It's a known fact that pigs are highly intelligent. Anti's are not however. BUT, they're not being educated at all, they're actually being handed the information they require to then use against us by the idiots who think they're dog men or hunters. I'm told by good lads that Farcebook is like an Argos catalogue for the Antis. And some of the gobshites on there are on here trying to make a few pound or boost their ego's at the expense of proper hunters.

Seen them and a liability if a collar fails. Not even a knock or a bump to start the terrierman in the right direction.

If your ratting good numbers in a dirty environment I'd have penicillin handy. Rat bites are dirty but the rubbish and crap they live among can also cut dogs and can cause infection too. We used to rat a dump and we used to give the terriers a shot before the hunt started. Then after the hunt we'd wash the cuts and scraps.

One of my heroes. Even though his show's were mostly about the old days there was no romanticism, he told it like it was.

Interesting subject. IMO it would have said "earth stopping" if referring to a hunt. Masters used to send a message to their earth stoppers the day before stating weather they wanted stopping in or stopping out, meaning the stopping would be done at night or the morning of the hunt. It's very interesting how the school boys would go missing from school to go stopping. I was involved for several years with the oldest open coursing club in Ireland. The book we kept our records in goes back to the 20s. In it it says that in the 40s the Headmaster of the local primary school used to allow th

Recent evidence has shown that the porbeagle is starting to return to past numbers of some parts of Ireland. Hard to believe that in the 60s and 70s monster porbeagles were regularly caught of the shore from parts of the West coast, but unfortunately were slaughtered too.

Speaks volumes, that last picture.

I would not envy the slipper trying to keep two big Deerhound's focused in two foot deep heather, hard work indeed. What era are we talking about here ? The 80s ?

Thanks Inan, I stand corrected. I knew it began with a RE, LOL.

LOL, JD did you press the wrong button ? SURELY you meant to press the ££££££ button, or am I wrong. It was a slip of the fingers matey......£$£$£$..all amount to the same. You're right on both accounts.
