how the dog bred mate,?
-
she sounds spot on for that, i like lurchers about 24-25 in 40-60lb a beddyx grey would be about that size, and make good mooching dog and few nights in the lamp , i am more in the day now, but do like bit of alrounder if was getting another dog.

watched the news , looks bad up there , some poor folks houses flooded downstairs etc. when you look at some of the walls, and bridges that collapsed , there all very old. wonder if they try to build new ones instead of just patching them up, like they seem to do in most rural places .? nice little dog fred, what is it beddyx whippet, i like the straight beddyx grey me self , but you dont see that many today, it nearly always beddyxwhippet x grey .!
-
great little film , looked bloody dangerous though lol , got to concentrate 100% or bust hand , the end result is brill , like to see how they make them to day .?
-
and if you give a good size 10 boot in his ugly face, you get done for GBH and get sent down loose your gun licence for good, be hard to get one over him really, 1st thing got to get him off the telly, if we could .? make him most unpopular as much as we can .
-
them old type staffs look nice , type we had in the 60s , more like few of the pits you see today , and that not bad price really, i paid £ 100 quid for 1/4 pit 3/4 grey in the 80s , so for ped dogs as they are not bad price, and shouldn't be short legged fat staffs you see in the show ring today .!

deff mate, very good collars , well made water proof , ive got the lurcher one, bit smaller , 1 1/2 in think wide , spot on , my big 1x gsd x grey Buck a prat for pulling when he sees something he wants , he 90lb and powerful with it , they hold him back no prob, the bigger collars are very good as well , i had one when i had pit bitch she puller as well lol , the slip leads are great as well, easy in your pocket , when not in use .
-
the ones i seen in the 80s seemed bit lighter in build to some that ive seen in recent years, but in saying that one of the best bullxs iever seen , was tug 1x staffx grey , he was 26in and about 75 lb . my 1/4 pit 3/4 grey was similar size out of joe smith stuff, joe liked his 1/4 breds he never liked them to big, great dogs he bred , he more of a terrier bloke really though had some good jacks , not sure if he still keeps dogs now .
-
'glad you got another ridgeback Dave , there great breed , if she turns out like your last bitch , she be a good one , keep us updated with her. think you might ever get another lurcher , or will you just stick with her .? if gave up lurchers i have ridgeback there temp would suite me, i like healthy type dogs , and if it guards your house its a bonus .

spot on mate, lets face it what we taking about here since the ban, his landowners dont want people with running type dogs on there land after game, so permission or not, they dont want the cops on there back, thats just them, now dog owners( running dogs) your going solo now day or night. the lads that still want to get a couple hares in the day, fair play to you you know there strong chance you might get copped, but you take the chance. now my main game been lamping for 30 odd years , idid have permission on 100 acres , but that was it, i did still stray a bit , as you carnt keep laming

bird replied to Cocobean's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
fair play mate, taking on a rescue lurcher, plenty of dogs there need chance of life. But looking at the big picture of owning a dog, i think a pup lot better to have and bring on , even just as pet. ive met few dog walkers with dogs like yours above, carnt loose them of the lead, there not dog friendly, and weary strangers . now when they meet my 2 lurchers , they are really shocked at our friendly there are with people and other dogs, i tell them that all my lurchers that ive been around since 1984 thats different xs , bar 1 ( kelpiex collie x grey bitch ) all been the same as m 2 now. an -

Christ by me i bump ito few dog walkers with cockerpoos, dogs like them, now not knocking them as there nice healthy little pets who give pleasure to there owners, but fook me £ 800- grand for a x breed , wheni tell them my 2 wimps cost £ 40 quid a piece there shell shocked lol i like 1 x beddy x greys , when old bryn kicks the bucket , i get me one prob few years away as yet the old prat quite healthy lol, but think £ -

true mate, think i asked before what is it a gsd , dutch, mal , either way true , the proper working ones go 30 in 40-50k of all the big breeds there most agile and healthy , and they were bred to guard sheep, goats from wolves etc, not stuck in sombody yard or house, they not really guard as such, like a rottie, gsd, boerboel , these are guarding breeds. my mate married a Turkish woman goes turkey few times a year ,he told me the kangals, the shepherds keep are brought up with the stock from pups, norm they have 3 kangals loose doing there job. they bark a
