  1. I put him in the same day with the more chill spaniels n he was good off lead but on lead he pulled away, done every day on lead with treats ect n he's not too bad now- off lead he's fine but I think that's coz he can try n get away- he's quick so I'm pretty sure he'd outrun majority... I'm worried about him turning as he's indoors aswell n having a 10yr old daughter but he's gone super protective of her since this, she was with me he growled abit at my 16 yr old son a few days ago for going nr her but within secs the lad was rolling on floor with him so doubt itll happen again. I was worried
  2. Def owners fault with this, dog was off lead but shouted he's better with dogs off lead than on (wtf?) , he only called it [BANNED TEXT] I was shouting at him to get it on lead but kicked it to get him off my pup got literally 7-8ft down the path n let it off again- that was after he ran off coz I told him I wanted his details coz he can pay vets bills..... weren't a young kid either, he was at least 45.... ? hoping this will be dominance rather than that but time will tell
  3. Think Grey x merle collie with some bull thrown in I've been told- cracking looking dog but can't unload a photo.... He's my first lurcher, gave into my 16yr old who wanted to try something other than pheasant/duck... few of his mates works with their old man.
  4. Ha try that with us women where I'm from my love n it's be hot plate to your balls- never mind kicking my pup in his balls? ?.
  5. I threw him in with 2 springers the same day hoping it would stop it being a long term issue but he knew them to an extent so not sure if it worked. Back to basics on the training I'm figuring from the advice. He's a cracking dog & I think Ive over thought things really but I've never had it happen with an outside dog but didn't want the pup ruining so the usual traits with any breed of dog that I'd that as his age I've maybe talked myself into thinking it's more. I'll just take my time with him. Thank you for the advice
  6. That's the problem we having- obviously not kicking him in balls but giving him abit of a ragging isn't stopping the situation- I originally thought it was his age n him trying it on. He does submit n stop there n then but nxt time same thing.... I should of put that in original post really. He could just be taking the piss but thought ppl with experience with lurchers might have a better idea- we've always worked spaniels n a ragging first time usually sorts it out... thanks for reply tho rather than taking the piss.... just 're read n saw u was taking the piss but still...... was only lookin
  7. Hi all. I've never posted but regularly have a nosey for advice with my 8 mth lurcher hence this post. 4wk ago he was attacked by a staffie, it got one of his front paws n his back leg, it makes me furious to think about it so won't go into all what happened, luckily punctured rather than ripped the skin so physically he's healed, he was obviously skatty after but treats when walking ect & he seems to be getting there the problem is he's started to not listen in the house- he won't sit, move ect n anyone walking past the house & I've got a very long driveway but he goes manic barking a
