Always great to meet up with Tomo we always have good chin wag , he sound fella, and a thumps up Tomo for looking after Buck for me, while i had look in the stalls . them red back boots are brill them , they got great write up on line about them, and i am glad i dint buy the other ones we looked at before , most dealer type boot comes up bit big on me, but thick type sock fixs that no prob . i got be honest though Tomo , when you was out size the stalls holding big Buck, fook me you got some serious looks from

true , bryn had few probs with his, ripped them, ended up having to let them heal, tried taping them to protect them , when i had Buck i made sure that the breeder took them off as small pup, best way i think, he full on when after any thing, in any ground, or cover , never any probs with him in 7 years .!

ever thought of a wheaten x grey or wheathen x lurcher, i like the 1x beddy x grey, but as you say not many get bred this way , but like you say you like a dog to tackle teeth as well, well most wheatenxs will be up for that, and 2nd you might get a better chance of finding a pup from the latter breeding . the only thing put me off the wheaten x lurchers more so back to a grey, that they can be dog aggressive , more so than pitx greys, i had 3 pit x greys, and mine were ok with other dogs no prob. just a thought , as a wheaten x grey say 1/4 wheaten 3/4 grey make good alrounder .

2 things i have seen out at night, one was not lamping but was working away from home roofing job, to save money we keep digs money, and kip in van , this was in the late 70s, me and othe bloke slept in old bedford , him in the front van , me in the back of van . well what we did we leave the van unlocked back of the van, so if i wanted a piss at night , i could just nip out with waking the other bloke up, as he have to unlock the van to loose me out if it was locked. well one night we parked up about 11 pm we had couple pints/meal at pub , about 1am i heard some noises in a wo

? he pen somthing like the above deff, regards 1x beddy x greys i only ever seen 2, and they were nice dogs about 24in 50 odd lb, had fair few rabbits, and few foxes , there were from 2 different blokes . you see alot of beddy x whippet x grey lurchers, but as ive always said , dont see the point of it , as the 1x beddy x grey can do the same job as a beddy x whippet x grey . but if people are not breeding this type to day , like alot of things in dog world , some just go out of fashion . regards this thing about dogs fighting, they soon think twice when old charlie clamped on there m

just about to say that ( worm her again ) if ok try chicken stock over here meal , norm that will get them interested in there dinner, any kind of gravy really. my 2 loves gravy on there food .

well , i had my big dog out from 10 weeks old day / night . i just let him tag along at his own pace, it worked out well i think, he learned his field craft , before he was 6 months old , which i think is a must with a lurcher. people hold pups back to long , they wait till they think it could catch a rabbit, ans slip it, it that when they can hurt there selves or give the odd yip. Both my dogs caught early, mine are 1xs it clicked with them, but even if i had a lurcher x lurcher type dog and bit more running dog , i still do the same with that .!
-
nice pup that, nice size as well for rabbits. my self like a straight beddyx grey , you still end up similar size 24-25in , but bit better bone , bit more robust with beddy x grey, but you dont see many bred this way , they norm like your pup with drop of whippet in them. my 1st lurcher was beddyx whippet x grey, was ok but prefer the beddyx grey as said .

the acd looks strong in them phil, were they 1x acd x grey ? nice strong looking pups them .

same here mate, fook knows why ? there was few from off here seen old bryn knock over 30 a night , jim from darby, trigger, doga , few who dont use websites ,good 7 blokes who dont really know each other. me self ive never really been keen on the collie temp, it was this put me off this type x, in the field bryn would get good bag of rabbits for you, he was never a fox dog, he ad the odd munjack if bumped into one but thats it . my big dog Buck would do the things bryn wouldn't simple as that,(both) are very sensitive type dogs bit to much for me if i am honest dont like to see it in
-
suppose , its how you look at it really, i had fair few 30s in a night with old Bryn , what he was like say the 1st 17-19 runs he norm catch quick, he had great strike on him so didnt burn out to quick . but say hitting round 30 mark, and started to slow bit, he wouldn't push him self then, so i pack up with 30 rabbits , ok not alot what some lads get, but enough for me .Now my big dog Buck will push him self alot harder than bryn ever done he could hit 45 if he was fit , had 39 when not really fit , no mean feat for a 90lb dog that . if i wanted a colliex , i get colliex grey x bed

yeh deff stay with your whippet, if anything maybe get another male whippet or better still a grew = whippetxgrey . i had none ped racing whippet bitch in the 80s, only small 20in 20lb , great at rabbits day/night , had couple hares , but they drag her if i didnt get there quick lol. some of the males down the track hit 34 lb , fiery strong buggers , a lad had 2 brothers , and he ran them both on foxes and roe deer , and they caught fair few together . make nice team together next year , till then just knock over few rabbits this season ,

true Mick , its if he still got the hunger to do it, as we all know he got load of cash, he dont need to get hurt or really train hard any more.Maybe if and its big if , he can win to to get his belts back, then maybe throw the towel in .? but like say mick i just got this feeling he will win by a KO , even if Ruiz trains hard and drop weight, i dont think he stop Aj, he never knocked out Aj, in thelast fight ,Aj just packed up . the fight people want to see i think his Fury v Wilder, that the bi fight next year , not the the winner of this fight, thats what i think .!
-
talking of loosing weight, Aj looks alot lighter from pics on youtube , looks like he dropped the heavy muscle he used to carry, be interesting if Ruiz drops his weight as well for the fight, if so Aj could still be in trouble dec 7th , but got feeling Aj will win with a KO on the night , as long as he uses his reach , and bangs at the right time, get his mind right for the fight .!!

just watched the the 2 new episodes, and agree it to pretentious , as yet it not as good as the old stuff, i still watch it and see how it goes. i get it alot with my accent where i live now, from the people here , they say are you from Brum, i say fookin no , Wolves= Wolverhampton , they say oh black country , i say wolves is on the edge of the black country , Tipton , etc black country, if you carnt understand wolves , you never understand fookin Tipton lingo haha .
-
yep deff Bruce Lee , i know most was rehearsed for the camera for his films , but in real life he great fighter . few extras in his films tried to test him off camera , and he knocked the shit out of them. Bolo the big muscle one and jim kelly who could look after him self both said the same, seen him hit couple off camera , said he was hell of a fighter , wouldnt like to get on the wrong side of him , for a 10st man , had unreal power .

bird replied to Dbod's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i think you are right mate, with above .i had 30 years ago a beddy x whippet x grey x beddy x whippet x grey dog, i could never get on with it , it nearly put me off lurchers for good back then . but i did meet couple blokes over the years with straight 1x beddy x greys , and there deff a difference temp and build to there x , they dogs were sound i could deff get on with them type dogs . all i can think it was the whippet in the x , changed the dogs mind set . i like whippets i had none ped bitch great little dog for racing and rabbiting , the males down the track hit 34 lb and w -

yes/no , ok put the time in and get them social with other dogs from young age , it all helps . Norm not all, as you get wimpy type temps in all breeds x bred or pure . but a pitx grey or pit x lurcher , will take bit more stick , than other dogs. its this kicking off , so if they got hurt a bit, they wont back down, where as most or dogs , will have enough once there been hurt a bit. my pitx greys were good temps, never tried it on with other dogs, i could put them in motor with strange dogs and never any trouble. my colliexs ive had and got now, could be bit funny with other dogs br -
see that wanker in there , you feel like busting his nose .!

no mate , the ddr ( east gsd ) are big boned long back dogs block type head , bred for work, there more active , and a sharper type temp , with less hip probs than your average gsd , my big dog would be similar in physic , but not the same temp , mine soft temp lol. carnt really see the point of crossing a bel mal , or dutch, when the drr gsd got the lot on offer . but maybe suppose if x back to nice whippetx grey coursing type lurcher drop the size down , and get a more all round type lurcher , and not just somthing for big stuff. a lurcherxlurcher mid size are always good type
