Coursing dogs for all round lurcher work
bird replied to trigger2's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
there deff a good x pit x grey x saluki x grey , i seen one work lamping years back, took rabbits and foxes easy, was 26 in well built dog , not bad re call either. the lad i was with that night, picked the rabbits for the dog, and the dog caught well, didnt have it out of control etc. the lad was more into foxes really, and dog did well at them , only 1/4 saluki the rest pit x grey i always wanted a collie x grey x pit x grey , back then but it was either collie x grey or pit x grey, not many were bred to each other , this was in the 80s , ended up with straight collie x greys , got o -
Seen quite few vids of leopards taking dogs, no doubt them and jaguar are top predators, in fact the jaguar as the most powerful jaw of all the big cats. I read about leopards taking dogs, that the dog owners, keep couple small terriers with big dog to alert the big dog and owners that the cat about. Makes a lot sence to me, my little jack x woody a brill watch dog, the fecker never sleeps. Lol

would have been tempted mate, to old i think now just gone 67 old fart, you got to fit and real keen to keep a bulldog i think today, or even good old type staff. i am hoping that when old bryn pops off, that if still fit/keen for another lurcher pet or worker., quite like the wheaten xs , old bryn 12 now still quite fit the old bugger, only really like to keep 2 lurchers at any one time, but see what future holds for me.!

lol, i know what you mean, alot of people think of there dogs as people , and not animals so get upset if you do anything to them or if they see my big dog going to there dogs , they panic , yep they deff over react if they thought there dog was hurt or got wet lol . but as said it not the dogs fault , it the owner fault. i suppose as well apart from this bloody jack x woody , all my dogs always have been quite, my lurchers in all my 30 years never really made any noise , our bull breeds were fairly quite as well , and dont think its just luck either, we give the bones and plenty of exercis

steady on wilf lol, nothing goes through me more than a fookin dog or dogs barking , they either dont give a shit, or they not on property when the dogs bark. i had it before at my old place , they leave the dog outside all day, while they were at work, the twat would never shut up. so i put the hose on the fooker soaked it,it didnt stop it, but stopped while it was wet lol .But got me sons jack x woody now , this prat will bark, but threw cup water over him when he does play up. i never phone any counsel etc, its never really the dogs fault it the owners fault , alot of people should never

joking a side for a min, are there any or many working bred jack/Russels bred these days .? even if it was a bushing/mooching dog, its nice to know that they could work above/ below if need be. and think alot of russels fetch from £ 200-400 quid to day, i think £ 200 quid fare price for lurcher or jack today .!!

nice that, how it bred, how much bull in it, what height .? -
maybe not, but Aj 6ft 6in , so is wilder , fury 6ft 9in Aj and fury weigh well over 16 st, wilder the lighter but still touching 16st, but prob the most power of the heavy weights. i think wilder would be very dangerous fight for usyk , wilder i think would be all over him quick and try to take him out quick, not like Aj or fury who , take 6-7 rounds to finish him. the old saying a good big un will always beat a good little un , and it true, just look at bulldogs, a game 40lb dog comes unstuck against game 60lb bulldog .

spot on regards the Birch , 6 lashes across your bare back, you deff think twice about using a blade on somebody again. ive always said there fookin cowards really, ask them to fight with just there fists/ feet nothing else . i knocked the shit out of a big fat paki where i worked once, this prat was alot bigger than me, i not small just under 6ft near 13 st , he was lot bigger than me, and he carried a blade on him. met up after work for the fight , he was standing there with few other blokes from where we both worked. i was on him like a flash, didnt give him time for nothing , hit him

what ever it is, it the kind of a pup i pick for my self, and the litter all the same , sounds like great pups in my book . carnt stand nervy , sensitive , dogs both mine are sensitive animals, ok they do there jobs that you want , but as ive always said on here it not something i like in any type dog , it makes the training that bit harder . deff

the ability of the bull x as a alrounder
bird replied to milliken's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
you think so mate on paper, but as soon as you put the greyhound in to the mix, you loose stamina and agility . the greyhound bred for speed nothing else, apbt bred for power ,agilty, and grit , the attributes of the bulldog , go down once it bred to another breed. i had 3 pitx greys all good dogs, 2 3/8 pit 5/8 and a 1/4 pit 3/4 grey, the latter was fastest , the other bit more grit in them, but all lacked proper stamina for long hard night running, this was all on foot, not out of a motor . you deff need another breed in the mix, either saluki , or drop wheaten , to give better wind . th -
not now mate, used go to few games when bully was knocking them in, went few games before Nuno came there, my young brother and my lad been last season. but i will try to get to couple games with my lad , hopefully when my lad not working .

Think your right gnash, we need bigger squad to do both. The traveling and extra games will show on the players injurys etc. See where are by Dec. Let's hope we can still keep mid table or just above like last season. Be a lot harder though now.

What a win to day, great win away from home against Man-City, knocked us up to mid table now. hope we can keep the winning streak going . made a w-ton born/bred bloke very happy COME ON WOLVES

no mate you are deff right, i did beating for 5 seasons, but the keeper never let me on with a lurcher , was ok with a ferret but not lurcher no way, maybe i am like you and my face didnt fit. there were lot of brown arses who get the best pigeon shooting, stuff like that, they get the best woods 1st, you get the picture mate. i still lamped it when i lived there but went over 3 -4am got few runs with my dog, fook'um . ive been fooking about with lurchers for 30 years, it was the same when i 1st started , and it no different now fact .!
-
fair play mate, dont blame you putting the massive journey in to get your pup or is it 2 pups, by the way you wrote .? i do the same if i wanted a good pup, you deff got well bred pup there good breeding and by the look of the vid well looked after . i traveled 4 hours to get Buck, nothing to what your doing lol, but i was like you and wanted this type x 1x gsd x grey, and he been good dog , no world beater no way lol, but had fair few good nights with him , and nice mooches in the day. you prob do the same with your dog, 1xs are tough buggers and good wind run all night, and good nose on

spot on mate, they can be life or death for some dogs, more so lurchers that are bred to catch live game[ rabbits, hares, deer, foxes) , alot different wounded bird( runner) , lurcher got to be 100% sheep , some young dogs can get bit hot headed if they ran more than just rabbits . i never used one me self, i put load of work in the recall, and even now with my older dogs i still give odd few recalls, it never hurts . funny thing , i was toying with idea with my colliex grey bryn using one on him 8 years ago when he was 4 years old. not because he was bad behaved nothing like that , it was t

well , if not the best ok, but bloody exciting to watch deff, and when it takes 3 strong / fit blokes to blokes to pull him down, weighing them selves 15 odd st , impressive in my book, and not just his speed , his agility as well for a big bloke .
