Do they still use Birch in the Isle of man, think they name for it as well.?
  2. He to old now mate, he 10 in august, if they had few bitches before you can still breed from them true. But if they not bred before, they sperm get weaker, and very difficult to produce. I do know one thing though, I know I find it hard to get a temp as his as good with. People/kids and dogs. I said to my wife that when Buck gone couple years time maybe. I get me a mature dog, just as a pet , unless I drop lucky I think find it hard, he been good in the field and at home?
  3. That's very true, plenty good brave terriers 5-6kg kill foxes under ground, I've always admire a good terrier, we got little jack with chihuahua in him little woody, only 5kg 11lb, he the boss at home deff in garden. And as said before on Buck fookin scared of him, yet he switch it on, and wreak a fox or bloody cat if bumped into one when out.?
  4. Now it funny you say that regards some hounds hold off a fox, unless they got few mates with them. I was quite surprised really, as some foxhounds are massive, I thought Buck was big, but some of them males hit 30 in 110lb, big thick bone on them. Dogs are strange creatures really, Buck certs passive with people /kids dogs, and yet wreak a fox, carry back proud as punch to me lol
  5. Yup haha, well got the grey beard, but baldwith it, didn't think vikings were bald, well Kirk Douglas wasn't haha.
  6. Good point charts, I know bloke who married his 2nd cousin, she nice looking etc, and seems normal enough, if a person can be lol. But it does make you think about people in general, as I've known loads of people, who go with out with any one unless there fairly local to where they live and born. And what I found over the years working lurchers, nearly all farmers never marry anybody unless local not saying there inbreds lol. But feck me, when I was after a woman, I go easy 100 mile for night out, a good distance for a shag, lol. Know it was nice to go another town etc.
  7. i never got me head round this form of hunting, ive seen few vids of it , and if hit there quarry, it never quick death . ok you get the odd few hunters that are very good , do good job , got no prob with that , but on average there not . And ive had go few times just practice with bow, and i was not to bad, when i was younger had good vision, for = rifle, shotgun, air rifle used have good eye site, but glaucoma fooked me right eye a bit now .
  8. Yeh let's hope so, and get the old bloke out. But as you say, let it be a lesson to other people. When you go to the middle East, use your feckin brains, and don't break there rules, who wants to either be locked up like this bloke, or worse get killed , or have your feckin hand chopped off, ?
  9. nice pup , looks like drop of bull in it ?
  10. Been great day, and good Queen for the country, hope she goes bit longer, never really been a royal fan etc, but all ways respected the Queen ?
  11. Lol. Told yeh get some Dutch shep in the mix, only joking lol, I do like the breed though. Stick with your kelpie or ones with kelpie in the mix, stick with dogs you know, and like, that's 1/2 that's battle with any type dog I've learned over the years. Old Bryn the 1x collie xgrey, was brill rabbit dog day/night, but had collie type temp that pissed me off lot of times. Buck my 1x gsd xgrey, prob my best alrounder lurcher I've ever owned, took what I sipped him on, great retriever good pace for big dog, good agility, and great temp with people, kids, dogs. But he as sensitive temp, you u
  12. True that as you know I pts old Bryn last year, he was 14, went of his food lost weight, which before used to eat well. I think when they get to certain age, 10 and above there body changes inside/outside, Buck still eats well, but slowed right down, but we both be in our 70s in august, his 10 years as flew by, but back the bloke bull x bitch. Do as DC says feed her lamb, rice, and dry biscuit, she deff wolf it down, but if still picks at it, let her do what she wants, at her age she knows what she wants or not, they all do when there coming to end of life.
  13. That's a fair point, you deff got to buy a gsd pup from working lines from East Europe, where bred for function, not looks., like the crap from the KC. Buck dam, got East Europe lines in her ped, good temp, healthy, good hips etc, his father well bred greyhound razzmatazz, do he just hybrid =lurcher. But being honest, I think unless you buy a gsd pup from proper working lines as above as I've said E/E, as guard dog or police/army I would bother. But if you wanted just one in lurcher line, I deff try a Dutch Shepard, they great healthy breed, not over bred, still kept good qualities, full on t
  14. True Stan, 3 years ago a house by me was done, think it was in the afternoon they done them. There watch the houses for couple days, then have a go. They left me, maybe they seen me with Buck when he loose in the garden, he daft he friendly with people /dogs , he looks the part but that all haha, no the bat be better ?
  15. haha , i just fookin old nutter , my wife said, if i had brain, i be dangerous , cheeky fat cow lol
  16. Haha, let's put it this way, what ever it size, it split your head in half with me using it lol.
  17. Going through some boxes that we had since we moved here 9 years ago, it's a rounders bat. I found it few years ago, thought It be good if we ever get burgled, a crack on the head would deck you. ?
  18. A nice beddyx whippetx grey bitch, somthing about 23in 50lb, you got pups 24-26in-50-60lb with good coat, Buck great coat/feet,stamina, and good pace for big dog, and brill temp. He 10 in august as said, it never happen, he never had bitch, and the older they get, it harder to breed from them, it OK if they had few bitches, but if not like Buck, harder to happen. Funny thing I was talking to bloke on the dog walk today, and I said when Buck gone in prob couple years time, I get me a older dog next time, never done it before, I've always had pups, but now I am older I think be better for me,
  19. When you say none ped whippets charts, the racing whippets at Cannock, Walsall, all backcountry tracks, were none ped dogs, in there make up were = greyhound, Staffordshire bull terrier, maybe bit of beddy, to give thicker coat. I had none ped racing bitch, 20in 20 lb, great little bitch, won few races with, and she was great at rabbits in the lamp, and put couple bends on a daytime hare, but rabbits and rats was her game. Down the track, they had males there 30-33lb, that would kill foxes, a lad there ran 2 brothers on them few times, they were strong game little dogs. The none ped racing w
  20. i know what you mean, with over friendly dogs like Buck going up to just be friendly etc, dont get wrong ive had it with him bounding up to them, with most people shitting there selves, with his size and the gsd look in his face, i did start to keep him on the lead few years back, and it does work a bit.But what happened the other night, he was only just in front of me, and at his age near 10, he deff calmed down hell of a lot to what he was 3 years ago.But if you really think about what happened , that dob went flat out at me and the dogs, now ok Buck big and strong enough to look after him s
  21. you are 100% right what you said/ did fair play mate. Christ if that been Buck he would have killed it , he have smelled it, he twat for cats he killed about 5 feral cats, he see a cat like a fox, in his mind there dead, i have to be very careful by houses if cats about. the prob i get with he so docile with people, kids, and dogs, but bloody hell , when in the hunting mode, any wild animal or cats fair game, thats what i had him for lamping and mooching which he been brill, you did great with soft old prat, i thank god it wasnt me with that cat, she prob love the thing, cats are ok for
  22. haha like it lol, i tell what we could do with couple good strikers now at the feckin wolves , couldnt give toss what they are, as long as they can find the back of the net, as long as they not paedos, perverts anything to do with kids , i not bothered . i bet some of the straight lads, will keep a eye on him in the show though , dont drop that soap lads lol
  23. was walking Buck and little woody the other night about 8 30pm , i go by the this small wood that on the common by me. ok you get few dog walkers on there, but norm as gets near dusk , dont see as many, and ive had the odd munjack from it, and Buck chased the odd fox up there, the other wood i go to at weekends, better not so many people, and see more munjack and foxes there, but the walk i was on just a walk and chill thing really and bit closer to me . Well i was walking to the wood, when this fookin Doberman came flat out towards me, it went flying past by 3 yards, i could see a cou
