  1. When I was a young guy,..I was frequently 'befriended' by these curious types,..feck knows why....?
  2. ?Yeah,..that poor old foot does look a right mess....?
  3. I am only a small time operator,...I guess I'll get by.....?
  4. Beautiful looking animal Sir.. We bred a fair few Whippet/Greyhound/ Greyhound x Deerhound back in the 1980's ... They were superlative hunters/lampers/Mouchers,..everyone locally seemed to have one?
  5. Yeah,..Ive found that with many types of genuine Ist Cross Hybrids,..as the litters progress, the end product often decreases in size? As a one -time breeder and worker of home-bred lorchers, I personally felt that the progeny from the initial first cross was the start of a breeding programe. The exciting part for me was where to go next to make an improvement... This fine tuning , testing and working in the hunting field , frequently dictates where to go .?
  6. I got Carpal Tunnel ,...in both hands? It don't half hurt ....?
  7. Yes,..mine were all in Files, on the ancient Windows XP....but, the Russian Ransomware gang attacked me without warning, and then offered me a dodgy deal,.. and it was a spurious offer, that would never have got my precious images back. They asked for BitCoins,...what the feck is that...? Hundreds of unreplacable memories,.. stolen and encrypted,...total c*nts?
  8. ?At least you still have your photos,...mine have all gone into Cyberspace....?
  9. Great to see the wee man,..please give him my best regards...?
  10. Yeah, ya gotta look after your old pals,..they deserve a wee bit of comfort... "Work them hard and treat them like Heroes"..?
  11. Used to love a bit of rattin and rabbiting...?
  12. Another thing that I have found is,...when working a team of ferrets over several consecutive days,.. they do seem to get a wee bit jaded, especially if the rabbits are in deep,.. and have been difficult to shift... This is the one occasion when I would always keep them a tad light, and in the parlance of Falconers, in 'good Yarak'.. If you are working, far from home and only have one or two days left, it is imperative that both dogs and ferrets,..(.and men) ,..remain keen and stay the course... Quite often, the client, who has been noticeably fecking absent, when the rabbits a
  13. Some whippets punch a hell of a lot more,... than their weight...? I've seen Roe deer taken with all manner of miscellaneous roustabout jukels,...and a big strong Whippet, that knows the score and has the desire,...can still sometimes grass them,... no bother?
  14. Well, that's a shame,. .I've not spoken to Andrew for several decades, but he kindly sent me a batch of his excellent Fox Hunting Videos ..? The stamp of lurcher, that he was using on the Welsh Hills/Mountains, really did seem to suit, the rough old rocky terrain... Whatever,.. life moves on,...I hope he is well....?
  15. Met Andrew several years ago,.. he came to our house with his hunting partner of that time,...to collect a Oz Cattle Dog hybrid pup... I found them both to be genuine lads... Love the stamp of dogs that he now keeps....?
  16. ? I think you will find that dear old Merle never saw a live fox.....?
  17. Yes, lovely wee tyke...? Actually,.. a few decades ago,.. there was a real spate of Wherriers in my area.. Like so many hybridisations, it all started from an unplanned mating,...but luckily,.. enough local lads fancied giving the resulting litter a brave go, to make the mistake worth while.? I had a real corker given to me, and enjoyed working her on the rubbish tips and factory yards,.. but after a while I gave her to my Sister to keep on her smallholding, in Wales. Facts were,. .back in the day,.. there was no real need to keep a dog that could not handle the business that
  18. Ran several lovely examples, in the 70's and 80's,.....super fast jukels on the Roe,...they didn't miss very many....?
  19. Yeah, it makes ya wonder where all these exotic species suddenly crop up from? We did have our own 'Big Cat' (well, biggish cat?) sighting, a few years back, just down the road from me,...but it didn't last long..?
  20. The pans are very good,.. used them extensively and I rate them a lot..?
  21. You are right there TOMO? I reckon an interesting series of articles could be penned, on the subject of, 'strange and wonderous places that conies often inhabit'....? Me, and my ancient and retired crew, used to specialise in shifting rabbits (and foxes) that had taken up residence in the most unexpected locations,....the list is endless, and as you say, such jobs or sporting forays, really do make the hunting business, much more interesting...?
