  1. Ex battery hens are my preference. Real characters as tough as you like having survived the battery shed. My missus likes the bantams but they are characterless i think. Tiny eggs and not many of them. And forever going broody. Fox finally finished hers off the other day so going to leave it til spring and re stock with ex bats

    Fogles Ok

I always wonder when i read these posts. Do any of you have friends who dont like hunting? I dont count any rabid antis as friends but plenty who would rather it didnt happen. Its one of those subjects we just dont discuss, neither has to hide their opinion but doesnt attempt to alter the others either. On the subject of Ben Fogle, he is a bit weepy but has more about him than the majority of celebrities on the telly
  3. Very sorry to hear this Liam, RIP Taz
  4. I've been on here since 2007 and seen herds of idiots come and go. I hardly post now as its barely a hunting forum anymore. Shame really as i met some good lads on here early on and had some great hunting off it.
  5. Its an odd advert. What makes them so extreme and how are they bred? I never understand though why people fuss so much about the price. Its £200, hardly going to break the bank is it? Theres pairs of boots on here selling for more than that and no one complains? I think its a fair price for clean healthy looking pups.
  6. Take one dog at a time to start with, and try and get out with someone experienced if you are new to it
  7. Take the piss even more? ?
  8. f**k sake boris, do you ever have anything good to say at all? Your posts are nothing but snide comments and sly digs. Do you know what you are supposed to do when you can't think of anything nice to say? Say nothing.
  9. I took my nephew out tonight. His first time fishing ever and he caught his first fish, was only a little roach but his expression says it all
  10. Ive got a weeks holiday booked at the end of the month and planning to take a rod. Has anyone fished there? Cheers
  11. I was out Friday and Sunday, had a few mackerel, lots of bream and a few rays
  12. What happened to this section? Used to be good, no just a load of sniping and bitching. Shame

    what country?

New Zealand but trapped by life at the moment. Never say never though ...
  14. I'm half way through the trip and loving it. Weather couldn't have been better so far. We started at glasbury Saturday morning and are now somewhere near strangeford. There are lots of fish about but lots of fishermen too so fishing hasn't been particularly successful. Here's a few pics
  15. Should make a handy mooching dog
  16. You not got a game dealer near by? You don' get much for a roe but it does save buying more and more freezers! An excellent alternative to a wind puffer is a lighter, just use the flame. I saw a lad doing it in NZ and I've been using it ever since
  17. The sevylor is indestructible, it would be my canoe of choice for bumping about in the shallows. It does suffer from wind though and doesn't track anything like as well as a rigid. I think I'll go with the sit on top and just take less stuff
  18. She works very much like a spaniel. I do a lot of very tight bramble clumps and she will circle them questing for scent and if she finds it she hit the cover hard. She is very fast through cover and exciting to watch. Her main faults are thats she is usually mute and sometimes she forgets she is in a pack so tries to do everything herself. She is mostly interested in rabbits and pheasants but will get stuck in to anything which hasn't always worked out so well with her being so small. She is far too hectic for stalking, at this age anyway, and would be distracted by every scent we passed. She
  19. My first x Springer pat bitch. She' just over 2 now and going well for me. She works cover like a mad thing and is a good ferreter. She is smaller than I expected but I'm happy with her
  20. No, we'll be taking our own. Im pondering between the sevylor inflatable and the sit on top. Loads of space in the sevylor but I've gone off it now I'm used to the hard kayak. My mate will be taking an open canoe like yours. How fast is the current? If it's fast the sluggishness of the sevylor won't matter
  21. Cheers mate. That looks like a really good trip. I can't wait to go now. If the weather is like this it will be amazing. We've got 5 days and 4 nights so should be able to do most of it in one hit i hope
  22. Do you actually know this guy or just on the wind up?
