  1. Hard to beat .20 cal. I've had mine since the '90's, lost count of the game it's killed. Good shooting mate

We get a lot around us. Heard my first one on 9th April this year and they are constant now. Heard my first Nightingale of the year two nights ago too. They are pretty special
  3. By the time he's old enough the grass will be high, the ground hard and it'll be too hot. Get him out mooching over the early summer mornings and leave the lamping til next season. That's what I'd do anyway but your dog so your call
  4. Plasterers bath, you can pack alot of game in one and it slides in and out of a hilux perfectly. Easy two man lift too even if it's full. No leaks into the back of the truck either and it's easy to hose out
  5. Why has this section just become Adverts? Used to be hunters from all over would put stuff in here but now it's just become advertising space. If you are going to advertise hunts in here why not do a decent write up? Might even work better than just quarry and price?
  6. I loved my escort and it never missed a beat. I don' do much pigeon shooting so never bothered with light cartridges though. It was used and abused as a vermin gun and is now doing the same job for a mate of mine as I was given a winchester pump action and didn't need both.
  7. I hope the weather is kind to you. We are going mid May so any useful info you pick up on your trip would be great to hear
  8. Wow. Thank you. Thats a bit over my head but I'm sure my buddy will either know or be able to research it.
  9. The round is for fallow mainly with roe in the summer and the very occasional problem fox. What powder would you recommend as an alternative to hodgsens? Would we use the same 43 grns? I understand all rifles are different, what shoots well in one may not in another, but I am a great believer in trying to to find as good a starting point as possible rather than trying to start from scratch. All this info is much appreciated
  10. Thank you. As you might have guessed I know very little about reloading so all information is gratefully received
  11. I will buy whatever powders and heads I require but I just need to know what I need to replicate the round. Was just hoping someone might have the recipe!
  12. He loves bushing, just not really into rabbits. He's getting old too now so he lets her do the finding and then dives in to help once she has something on the move. The only fault I have with her is that she is mute, a little bit of noise would be good to prime the lurchers
  13. My friend has just started reloading and offered to make me some rounds. My rifle loves 90 grain sako so I would like to recreate that bullet as close as possible. Any advice?
  14. This is my little monster. She is springerxpat bred by nobjerk off here. She is a busy little thing, did 36.6 miles over the course of a days vermin driving at the end of last season. She has revolutionised my rabbiting. Her mentor in the other pick will bush rabbits but his hearts not in it.
  15. The Wye and usk foundation mailed me back. They say that we can't fish from canoes and would have to fish from the bank and pay for a day ticket on each stretch. It seems a shame as I'd have been happy to pay as I think it's good to fund organisations like that. If we want to fish we'll have to be discrete I guess
  16. Thank lads. Been in touch with Wye and usk foundation and waiting to hear back.
  17. I'm planning a multiday trip down the River Wye by canoe and would like to fish on route. Has anyone done it? Is there some kind of whole river ticket I can buy?
  18. Some beautiful country. Scotland is definitely on my list to visit this year
  19. It's always the same. As soon as people start going out side in the spring they see all the game that's been there all winter. I've had more ferreting requests in the last few weeks than all sesson
  20. I've seen the knife and it's just as nice as it looks online. Still sharp too after four deer I think he said. Good work as usual Ray
  21. Piss poor display. Not the dogs fault, they look young and I guess that' not their usual quarry, but the idiot on the end of the slip. He had less bottle than the dogs, why not break them off and let it run or stuck it if you want to. Just looked like a recipe for bitten pups and a shit way to die for the honey badger to me.
  22. Well done mate. Opportunities like that don't happen every day!
  23. What a brilliant way to spend a day!
  24. There is no rush. Thst applies to training, entering and working really. Go slow and steady. Not many dogs have been ruined by being too ready but a huge number have by not being ready enough.
