They look the business ...when and where is the THL meet, may just pop down and say hello!!

I don't expect this to be £400 +++ quality but I would just assume it works fairly accurately and doesn't fall apart instantly...400 Yards range if fine for me, rarely shoot much over 200-250 yards except down the range! Never had a rangefinder before, always managed to guess reasonably accurately or used someone elses, so although this may only be £90 I'm still trying to justify it, and I'll be pretty p****d off if I invest and it is total c**p!!

Up and away at 05.30 yesterday morning heading for a meet with a guy I am deer mentoring.....in the hope of collecting the Red Stag that I am reliably informed has been causing problems at a stables in Chertsey. Strange as it may seem no sign of said Red, but around 07.00 Charlie put in an appearance, ranged at 169 yards, with the most pathetic Brush I have ever seen!!! Shooting down from quite high, straight in the front and out the chest! ....and then a bit of a wait until 10.00 when the little buck turned up...just finished the gralloch and his dad arrived on the scene!! ...around

50 is getting to be a fair old load, only ever fired a couple that high, never bought any, never found a need, just to try. If that is all that was on offer then so be it, but 36 would be fine if you can find them next time. Not sure about choke but probably best not to go tighter than 1/2

Never had one 400+ yards...not missed..simply never taken the shot, but that is good going in anyones eyes!!

In principle I understand they will not say anything now...as long as you have deer on the FAC you can now shoot whatever you want...got too complicated for the forces to list/define all the species and also a bit silly when you had graduated to the deer level, so ACPO now say doesn't matter what your FAC says as long as DEER listed..go for it...if it's safe of course! If I haven't got this totally right perhaps someone would specify the ruling more accurately! Cheers

Anyone got any experience of this please, your comments, good, bad indifferent appreciated.. Cheers

Falcon FN19 Zeroing Scope.
Deker replied to Gaoler's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
It's down to personal choice and normal target distance, generally on a 12ft lb most would zero 25-30 yards, mine runs 25-26ft lb and is zeroed for 40 yards! Whatever works for you!! -
what the hell has hapened?
Deker replied to the Verminator's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Setting all seriousness aside for a moment we could say..it's a 10-22 -
In his role as JSR he isn't a bad businessman...in his role on BBS I agree!!

To be fair they are not bad, I have purchased many things from them over the years and I am about to buy some more...so that must say I'm pretty happy

Double/triple edged problem are this one, light .243 with ballistic tips are excellent deer killing tools, you will not need the dogs using these..but as you have already noted they do tend to do a lot of meat damage! Most who eat or sell the carcase (most people) will not use ballistic tips on a regular basis unless they take head/neck shots..which opens up yet another debate

I understand there is some SONIC cleaning method...don't ask..I'm an old boy who doesn't understand new technology!

Various methods available as already said, cloths, brushes, fluids etc, if in any doubt any decent camera shop will supply plenty of options..try and avoid the T Shirt approach

what the hell has hapened?
Deker replied to the Verminator's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'd say a lot of good advice so far, in simple terms make sure everything is tight and everything is clean, check particularly the crown for dirt/corrossion/damage -
Is it worth getting up early for...I had one at 07.00 this morning, been up since 05.30...Broad Daylight!!!

Great looking gun in the black synthetic, but unfortunatly a little over my budget at £600 second hand. This seems like a good review for the Hatsan Arms Escort PS, and ALOT of positive comments about it from gun owners, at the bottom of that page. http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/111861...ort_Magnum.html It appears there is nothing else really like it in the price range, so I guess I'll for it , and keep my 3 year warranty at hand in my pocket. ATB Best of luck, for the sake of your relatives take out some good life assurance!

If it is FIRMLY affixed, then no problem!

The Countryman Challenge for all shooters
Deker replied to DoubleBarrelledDon's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Might also be worth being a little humble and grateful for being able to turn up from nowhere and and advertise your wares on a respected and well established site! might also be worth keeping your opinion to yourself if you don't have anything constructive to say deker.... your a bit of a hunting life vigilante aren't you ! get over yourself ! talking of humble or gratefull....i don't see a donator sign by your name....if you are gratefull for using this site maybe you should support it by donating a little to the running costs etc....its only £5! the guy is organizing an event for -

Try try long cartridges 70mm, the magazine spring is too strong for 65mm or less...yet another wonderful design feature

just what he needs to hear on his first gun i have never heard of this before what carts were you using, but due to the amount of them being used safely and happily in the uk i doubt this is usual what was wrong with the replacment Chap, I can but assume you have a vested interest in Edgar Bros or Hatsan or both, don't talk bull about carts or dirt in the barrel, the gun is a heap of junk. I have been using shotguns for more years than I care to remember and know what I am doing, do you think they would have replaced them if it was MY fault!! Edgar Bros and the dealer ack

What does the podlock do? If you get a swivel bipod, which has an adjustment allowing the rifle to be tilted left or right depending on the ground, there's a knurled nut on the bipod which tightens the swivel function holding it in one place. The knurled nut is less than ideal (IMO) for this tightening job. The Podlock if a small handle that replaces the knurled nut, allowing much much easier tightening up of the tilt function Thanks, sounds good Cheers, I didn't know either, but got answered before I had a chance to ask!!

I have the Harris 9-13 and 12-25, neither is a substitute for the other, they both have their uses I'm also considering the 13.5-27, for exactly the reason Harris added it to the range!
