  1. If it is for FAC you have bought the wrong cabinet...if it is for SGC it doesn't matter! Ooops, it is for my FAC, is it OK to buy a small safe and bolt it to the wall? Yes chap, as long as it meets the BS spec, but now you need to buy an additional cabinet, if you had bought one with a seperate lockable compartment you would only need the one cabinet
  2. I have exactly the same rifle and fortunately have no issues, it likes the 90g SP and groups without effort at 1" at 100 yards, if I apply myself to the task it clover leafs. Only ever put a handful of 100g through it, almost always use the 90g, they just work! ATB

  4. Left 07.30 for a 3.5 hour trip... Not impressed I have to say, seemed smaller, and certainly less people there, even though it took nearly an hour to do the last 3 miles!!! Walked in and bumped into a shooting buddy almost immediately, couple of hours later saw Foxdropper, actually he saw me and I didn't even recognize him until he took his shades off not used to seeing him in civvies, always got the camo on when we meet Anyway wandered around until about 18.15, sampled every bit of food and drink I could find, got all the literature and free magazines going and bought a 12g Bai
  5. Not got one, never owned one but used a few, I too saw and tried the LEICA CRF800 at the Game Fair and have to admit I was impressed with its size, feel, ease of use, optics and repeatability...but not enough to spend £359 on it when I know someone who already has one
  6. £200-£300 buys a very acceptable rangefinder for 400-500 metres/yards. Personal view, but for Air Rifle/Rimfire thats all you need for sure, and I would not be looking to rush out and spend any more. I'm at the Game Fair from Saturday and they are on my list to look at and hopefully get a deal!
  7. Well I sure do! I'm afraid i agree to ! I DON'T...he says Deer and Fox Dawn to dusk, so the odds are a VERY wide distance spread, fixed mag does not do the business here at all for most shooters! It's not a criticism of the S&B, I just don't see a fixed mag is the ideal in these circumstances!
  8. Biggest heap of **** going and dangerous...I bought a brand new one for my lad less than a year ago, the Barrel blew up after about 30-35 cartridges, the replacement barrel did not fit and then a totally new replacement gun had various problems...returned for a full refund...NEVER again and Edgar Bros are scared stiff of telling you they are mass produced with inferior metal and very bad tolerances! The proof house test in this country is a joke as far as these are concerned...one slightly over pressure cartridge, if it survives it gets a proof mark, a complete waste of time! Am I bitt
  9. Notched legs only available on the 9-13 inch model, I love them, very quick and easy to set height, others may have another view. http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/results.php Take the time to check them, there are a lot, and GET A SWIVEL version, unless you only ever intend to use it for fixed distance range use on a totally horizontal surface!!
  10. He's a good old boy, doesn't take any prisoners and knows a bit, simple fact is there is a bit to be learnt here by some, but anyone who has grown up fox shooting will learn little. He has his views and favoured tools and does well, credit to him but don't expect to be amazed by any startling revelations
  11. Not that easy to find in the UK generally ...I guess that's because the margins are small, they are brilliant for the money!!
  12. ...and a chopped barrel by the looks of things
  13. Bottom line is ammo is V expensive and not easy to find, home brews are still pricey, the calibre is awesome and will leave a serious dent in your shoulder (and whatever it hits) and in your part of the world will have very limited use I suspect....nevertheless, once you have shot everything in the Shetlands you will be able to start picking stuff off on the mainland with that!!
  14. Can't argue with that a lot..on the skeet I use 24g 9 though!
  15. Small Ground Game and Vermin!
  16. Does the .177 still go "thwack"? ATB
  17. There is some useful and some bull info above, you sound a young keen and nieve lad. Talk to the BASC, if you are not a member you will need to join some organisation and get some insurance, you will do a lot worse than the BASC. A Certificate is required for a Shotgun but you do NOT need ANY shooting land to get a SGC. At your age with apparently no experience life is not going to be that easy.....chill out and do the research!
  18. EVERY calibre has a use, but I struggle to see what the .270 is BEST at over and above several other calibres!!
  19. If you know where they are use drop traps, nobody seems to have mentioned that, commonly used in pest control! Davy is a good man and I'm sure he will be able to help, if you want a real shooting party give me a shout!
  20. I can arrange you any combination you like of cut, thread, crown, proof and fitted Predator 8 for £270. All from the the current FT UK Champion rifle manufacturer. His work is second to none as I and several of my associates will confirm! You will need to get the gun to Berkshire!
  21. Good on you FD and as for some of the comments above.. FFS don't show your ignorance!!!!
  22. Don't know hardly anything about the AGS, but the 200 is a VERY fine gun, even though it may have been designed by a Blind Broadmoor resident!!
  23. with hmr you will be shooting 100 yards ish so DONT get sucked into expensive optics.....mtc do a great range of scopes,im using a viper on my hmr but i wouldnt go for that one again, the mtc mamba use the same glass but non of the extra's that you wont need.....harris bi-pod because they will last longer than your rifle, decide how you are going to shoot ei..laying down flat or kneeling etc that will tell you what pod to go for..cheepy sak mods are good for £30 ish...if you are going for a cz 452 get a brookes trigger kit they transform the rifle.ten shot mags are handy aswell.......
  24. Interesting possible gun choice and everyone has their own reasons..and why not.......BUT please don't waste your time with .17M2. A.22lr and a .17HMR have their uses, (I have both ..and a .22WMR) but I am yet to find any reason for the existance of the .17Mach2!
  25. Who are you!! Tell me more!!!! You may have to pay someone to take you out, but if you start offerering landowners money to shoot their rabbits and pigeons in Berks I will feed your nuts to the fox!! If anything they should pay you!!
