  1. She does mate Arts and crafts and gardening with mum. Shooting and martial arts with dad. ....... Every daughter should learn how to put a heel kick under a jaw
  2. Little 'un wanted to use her rifle during half term so, as I've now got a small collection of good permissions, I suggested we go hunting and, she leapt at the chance Because of school, various clubs and my work schedule, she hasn't practiced much lately so, on Wednesday, we headed off to Black Cat HFT. It was a good afternoon - she spent some time on the plinking range then, I moved her onto the HFT lanes. Her Goldstar se is still a little long and front heavy for her to follow proper HFT rules so, she took most of her shots off the bipod. The funny thing is, she's right handed
  3. They're really easy to fit Phil Have a look at Nicks YouTube video. If you get stuck, Give me a shout and I'll pm you my number.
  4. You sound a bit happier about it now FT It sounds like you may have over-thought the process. All credit to you for doing it that way and sticking with it. I find that, for my poor little brain, it's best to simplify things when possible. To zero a new scope, I draw a cross on a target and, shoot at it, checking the impact through the scope and, making adjustments to the elevation and windage until I'm bang on. I do have a mate that does it the same way as you but, he's adjusting a .243 over 100s of yards. Glad you're sorted Atb
  5. Be interesting to see when it's done Si. I actually don't mind dark stocks. Light or dark is ok as long as it's got some nice grain. You're right about the lacquer though - I've done it once and, it was a bitch to get off. Good luck with it mate, hope it turns out how you expect
  6. Cheers Tom. To be fair though mate, the TX is a piece of piss to work on I've only got to know mine so well because I had it apart so many times while trying to get it how I wanted it. I'm chuffed to bits with it now though. It's the first one I've ever done and, it's been fun to learn on.
  7. I used a Dremel with that engraving attachment when I made a stock for my old Matador. If you steady it with both hands and, kind of dab with it, side on, it makes fairly neat round dimples. It's not unlike the texture on a golf ball, but on a smaller scale.
  8. Good for you, you won't regret doing it I degreased mine with WD40, then gave all the insides a good wipe over with kitchen roll. I used a nylon cylindrical brush thingy in a drill to give the inside of the main cylinder a good clean and polish. I can recommend Tinbums MaxPro kit. It comes with the short stroke extension, guide, tophat, slip washer, preload washers and, his own Bumslide - some kind of dry moly grease. I really like the faster shot time from a short stroked TX. I found that the delrin parts did reduce recoil minimally. All in all, it's a good kit that does
  9. Very nice :thumbs There's obviously nothing wrong with your taste in rifles in Viz. My .22 TX will never be going anywhere.
  10. Cheers Si, I was using JSB RS .22 (13.43gn) - they come out of this S10 at around 620fps. I'm still new to hunting with .22 but, these things were hitting hard. There were a few front on shots, right between the eyes, where the rats just curled up

  12. Cheers mate, You're spot on - the funniest shots of the night were when I got my ranges wrong and the pellet went low. When that wet mud kicked up in front of the rats, they really jumped At 10ish yrds, they were bang on the crosshairs
  13. Cheers Moxy, It was a good evening. Since returning to the sport, I've never had such a busy permission.
  14. This is the one that came out of the blue one night last week - the guy pulled over and spoke to us while we were shooting rats on another permission. We loaded up our kit at about 8pm yesterday - my mate took his .177 S510, I had the .22 Super 10, both with NS Vipers and cheapo monopod shooting sticks. The kit I was most thankful for last night - wellies and the litter picker. It turned out that this small pig farm is 5 minutes round the corner from me. I never knew it was there. When we arrived, the owner was out feeding the pigs and geese. We had a chat and he showed us around. I
  15. Nice one Phil - I really don't think you'll regret it mate. Charlie - you're a gent. Atb to both of you.
  16. Oh now you've gone and done it - you're way out of line my friend. You've completely over stepped the mark and, the mood has changed We DO NOT want those wankers at our illustrious airgun ranges - they'd never get a half inch grouping at 40yrds
  17. I'm ashamed that she's British as well.
  18. I'll look forward to seeing the hunting post on Thursday morning Si It's a nice looking rifle and, I see a few of us are reverting to a more pure form of airgun hunting. I hope to finally be out with mine on Wednesday - if I don't get called into work again The question is, do I take my favourite - the mighty .22 TX or, do I take the improved 97? The 97 is overdue a wtite up
