Or maybe not selfish enough ? Throughout this whole thing, I've been wondering, Where are these kids dads? I can honestly say, withought a shadow of a doubt, if one of those poor girls was my daughter, I'd get out there and earn myself some serious prison time.

Ready For The Hunt.......
Jonjon79 replied to Jonjon79's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i take it you two have been fettling in the man cave davy atb si Just a little fettle,on the 97 it was a tad harsh, but all sorted now buddy.I was watching and learning - Davy did all the work on it. I do like this 97. I find it comfy to hold and shoulder. Before, it was accurate but, I could feel the sharpness of the recoil through the cheek rest and right into my face. Now, that sharpness has gone, the whole rifle feels and sounds smoother. Everything from the safety release button to the cocking stroke and the firing cycle feels a lot nicer. Again, Thank you Davy. Much appreciat -
I tried them a long time ago. I had a mate that used to go camping in Wales. He'd spend a week in the wilderness somewhere picking and eating those things. He made me a cupasoup with them one day - I was out of action for around 8hrs afterwards and, I felt all philosophical for a couple of days after. I'm glad I had the experience but, not something I'd do again.

Give it a go mate Sliced pigeon breast on a salad is nice. You can spot a woody by the white collar and white stripe on the wings. Don't eat a feral pigeon, they're horrible little things - flying rats.

Feck me, that single post really took me back When I was a small kid, I used to go with my grandad to collect in his snares. He never went anywhere without a homemade catty and some homemade shot. He'd never do it in front of nan but, I saw him take pigeon off telegraph wires, lamp posts, all sorts, while we were out walking. They'd all go into a pocket inside his coat. Happy days ..... I keep meaning to get into it.

You might need a 3rd one soon Phil - or is it 'Pots' now There's a Wildcat in sales and, the seller's open to a deal

Good luck Gaz, They can be clever little feckers. Let us know what bait you use and how it works

Anyone Using Air Pistols For Hunting
Jonjon79 replied to kyboy44's topic in General Airgun Discussion
What are the power level restrictions like for air pistols in your neck of the woods? We're limited to 6ftlb so, most people over here use them for target sports only. Generally, airgun hunting in the uk is done with a rifle. For close range hunting, I'd be tempted to go for a rifle (for the greater power level) and a low mag scope. Or a catty and a shit load of practice. Sorry, I know it doesn't answer your question but, I reckon you may get a more suitable answer locally. Good luck & atb -
HW100 3d printed biathlon style cocking lever. It's a good solid fit to the lever and makes cocking the rifle very easy in the dark or when wearing gloves. £20 including 1st class signed for delivery.

Cheers Guys, For me they're a very close second to Magpies. But, that fast and furious rat shooting in the first 30 seconds is a lot of fun. Sometimes I just can't cock the rifle fast enough
-
They don't come any shorter than this for a full power little rifle
-
Nice going That's the best thing about Magpies - the way their mate will often give you a second opportunity

We popped out to the new permission for 8pm to try to get some time in before the moon came up. We headed straight for the grain silos to clear out a few rats. Most of them were up on the metal frame. The Super 10 and, my mates S510 did well...... the far side and the back of the concrete base of the silos fall away to a 5ft wet ditch, full of brambles. A lot of the rats fell in there. As soon as we started shooting them, they went nuts - running all over the place and knocking each other off the silos. I got one that ran straight toward me The .22 hit it with real authority and, it

Cheers Davy. I'll send you a text

You can't fool us Mac - that's a badger
-
Pm me when your ready Phil - I'll post you a few to try If you don't mind a friendly word of caution though mate - don't risk your FAC on targets that might not be completely legit Atb
-
Likewise mate The nights are getting colder but, I reckon they'll enjoy it
-
i can see where your coming from philill be using them for crow bashing safe to say they will do a fox but you'll still have to be at a decent range! atb si A lot of the shots from my old HW100 with JSB Heavies were pass throughs on rabbits heads. I found that creating a channel right through was just as effective as a pellet deforming and dumping all of it's energy. ..... There's no more dead than dead I reckon those hornets could kill a fox - they went through brochures and embedded into a breeze block wall For me though, there's a big question mark over their accuracy. I have a

Cheers Phil. It's nice to use as well - the trigger is adjustable and light and, with the HW mod, it's one of the quietest I've ever known. The also make these in a black pepper laminate and a walnut stock - they all look very nice. So, you not in the queue for a pink shotgun then?

Little 'uns on half term for a week from next Wednesday and, she wants to go hunting We got her Goldstar out for the first time in a few weeks today - it's still bang on zero with AA Express. I'm off work again next Wednesday so we'll have a day at the range getting her eye back in and checking how she's doing at different ranges. She did well at 27yrds this afternoon. I may have to get some scrim for that stock though The way this rifle runs so well, I'm surprised we dont see more used for hunting.
-
Yes, sounds good mate I'll send you a pm
