There are days when it all goes wrong and l'm glad nobody is there to see it . Then there are the ones that you really want to share with a friend. Has to be a good friend though . What a fantastic day's fishing you had . 300 fish! And a long walk to prove you earned them . Far more satisfying than driving up to the river and fishing out of the boot of your car. Proper fishing

I have always found the KC Russell thing interesting simply because it happened in my lifetime. Lakelands, Seayhams, Borders and Fox terrier etc had long since been registered before my time. I remember the heated debates in letter sections of various sporting periodicals arguing the pros and cons. To my mind the terrier that they wanted to register and close the gene pool on was the same type of dog that was registered as a Fox Terrier early days, and that didn't pan too well in regard to preserving the "breed". Difficult not to be cynical in regard to the pro camp being motivated by £ signs.
