Can remember the lizard bud had a skin condition if it's dog I remember But don't know if out of Trevor pal .

I ran with Trevor bred lurchers when I started out I know Lou Cuggar Edwards who owned him and hes still about but not into the dogs anymore he bred a lot of stuff out of Trevor the ones to greyhounds were lacking but the ones to lurchers were top drawer on filling a bag especially with the deer sorry I don't know any more ?

Cheers for the reply I remember a mate from London  mentioning the nutty trevor dog he called it .I think it was that Lou fellow who some lads around here got pups off with distinctive white flecks in their coats would have been the mid 80s

Trevor never did anything on the coursing field to be fair his offspring were hit and miss the F1s Lou bred were no good when it came to the real hares on the black land ?

But the lurchers he was bred too hot the high notes especially with the lads doing the deer ?

Have witnessed small bitches bred from Trevor that ran fifteen minutes plus on Sherwood forest fallow small bitches with the biggest hearts..

The Mansfield Woodhouse lads kept a strain from him double bred Trevor and for the job I haven't seen many better but they were into earning money not running hare on a gambling basis but could kill hares for fun Big Ian had a real good bitch and she went to her half brother and a dog out of that mating was imho perfection they bred true to type bitches 24 dogs 26-27 I would imagine still talked about today..

Several litters were bred and fed that village for a decade .

Lou was and is from Huthwaite he is a good man was a lot of a lad back in the day and known as Cuggar but the better for coursing the fens was Russ Rowley's stock so they went on to produce what most have today.

I was just a teenager back then and if it wasn't for Trevor bred stuff during the miners strike and just before I'd probably not had the life of running dogs I've had not earnt the coin I did during hard times

Juckler we're you in court when big Ian represented himself.....a lot of the Woodhouse lads were...

And he was asked why did you catch the rabbits Mr Ian. ..and he replied. ..I put it to you why did the chicken cross the road.....of course the public gallery were in hysterics. ...

Big handy fella Ian. ..lived a few hundred yards from me...when he left Woodhouse and moved to new Houghton

Help Required as to ancestry /history of my saluki /Greyhound.
I have just lost my dog of a lifetime to cancer, she was 11/12 yrs old.I am truly heartbroken.
I'm not a hunter, but have always loved sight hounds in particular salukis.
My dog Fern was a very distinguishable sighthound ,her colouring alone a mutated dilute. Was quite a show stopper. I'd have people literally stopping cars to ask what she was as she held herself well and looked awesome.
She was Steel and tan with a white butterfly on chest. White tips on feet.
      Fur like velvet and shone.
      A glamourous looking dog.
She passed through I believe 5 lurcher men before coming to me age around 4 yrs.
      I had her 8 yrs.
I have  sketchy details of her young life and know she was initially used as a racing dog and then a lampers dog. Until she hurt her spine and broke a toe.
Fern was born around 2009,lived in North East England (Northumberland).
I believe she had two litters of puppies (do you have one?)
Lived Winlaton, Mickley,Prudhoe , Ryton, Greenside, Horsley.
I believe her father (sire) may of being khan jihad.
I believe her mother (dam) was a steel greyhound and was a Irish coursing champion.
Does anyone know who that might be?
      Who bred Fern?
Does her heritage fit time scale wise?
I would dearly love to know as I said, totally in bits at her loss.
I just want to try and recreate her or seek out someone who might be able too from same lineage.
Whilst I'm not a hunter, I turned Fern from huntress to helper in that I used her skills and abilities to bring deer out to me to photograph, as I'm a professional photographer. We were quite a team.
I just loved everything about that girl.
      Thanks for any help received.

What in your opinions would be the best thing to breed a deerhound/greyhound to but still looking to keep size and speed just something nice to throw into the mix or even more greyhound what do you lot think?...
      Cheers
