A lot of those policies will involve banning this, that or the other. Some of them will be impossible to ban while we remain in EU - is this a signal that Labour will finally get behind Brexit ?????

My lurcher and terriers are all raw fed - minced chicken, with some trips. Add grated veg or Apple and a small amount of mixer, for fibre. Supplemented with raw eggs once a week, meaty beef bones or lamb ribs. No wastage, no runny mess to clear up and reasonably cheap !

Legal fox hunting is gone, never to return, in my view. What we should all be doing is concentrating our efforts into make sure that other fieldsports don't go the same way ! I continue to support my local hunt, but not in any real hope of seeing a repeal. These days, I'm more concerned about further restrictions on air guns, and tightening of other firearms legislation. If you work dogs, a reworking of animal welfare laws could see your last time squeezed. Once we allow politicians to set off down a road, they never turn back ! -

As you say, Chris, my issue is who decides what is "extremist", and what will they be open about what criteria they use to decide ? The answer to the last part is probably "no"........

I watched Prehistoric Autopsy on BBC4 recently. They did reconstructions of Neanderthal and Australopithecus, going back over 3 million years - absolutely fascinating and utterly absorbing (and presented by Alice Roberts !). It really brought our ancestors 'back to life', after spans of time that we can't even begin to imagine............

I mentioned licensing to my new FEO (I moved county recently) , and he said that (quote) "the police have no interest in it, whatsoever." Unfortunately, I couldn't pin him down to whether that means "ambivalent" or "opposed".......... I think it's more likely, at some point in the future, that shotguns will only be granted under the same rules as firearms.

I was watching Forces TV the other night (Starsky and Hutch !), and they ran several recruitment ads............ The other army ads show the comradeship that is forged, often under adversity. The Navy advert ("born in Carlisle, made in the Royal Navy") shows the commitment that recruits need. The RAF ad shows the wealth of career opportunities available to personnel. Most of the ads already have black and ethnic participants. I dont see why the MOD paid (handsomely, I would imagine) for an advert aimed specifically at Muslims........to tell them that, if they join the army, they can

I've tried to explain cricket - which I love - to my Hungarian mate, until I'm pulling my hair out (such as it is !). "So, one team goes in, and stays until they're out, then the team that was out goes in, until they're out.........." kind of scenario. We watched a Big Bash T20 game recently, and he annoyed me so much that I ended up switching it off ! "That's a different chap batting !" "That's because the bowlers change ends after 6 balls."...........cue schoolboy hysterics. And so it went on.
