    18mm !!! Wouldn't want t get in the way of that !! I just went out and measured mine and they're 20mm down to about 15, on the catty I use most. I don't really measure them as such - I like to cut them according to how they will fit on the fork, if that makes sense ? To give a 'for instance', I made a very tiny catty with forks around 12mm wide ( I think I posted a pic of it once), so I wouldn't try to put a 25mm band on it.

    Maybe not all objectors were cowards. Maybe they had a political, religious or humanitarian reason for not fighting. But IMO letting any of those reasons get in the way of defending your country is a cowardly act. But that's not the point. Objectors should not be given priority in this case. Couldn't agree more, buddy ! The priority should be focussed on those who didn't come back, not those who didn't go in the first place !

    Not necessarily Frann. Craig Charles (also in 'Corrie') was found not guilty of rape some years ago .

    The fact he's been found not guilty doesn't necessarily mean the girl was lying. It simply means his guilt couldn't be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. The conviction rate is rape cases is extremely low, due in large part to the nature of the offence - one person's word against another, and rarely if ever any witnesses. It's an offence that nearly always comes down to who the jury believe the most - guilty men sometimes 'get off' ! However, I'm not saying that's happened here -the Law has spoken and that's an end of the matter, as far as I'm concerned.

    You only have to remember that if snow is forecast for a couple of days, the shops look like there's a war on !! Imagine the chaos if electricity ceased to be available. The police can barely maintain law and order in the large cities as it is sometimes. Mrs.B actually got a bit scared when she realised how quickly people would turn on each other and resort to stealing from each other, and asked if we could protect ourselves and our property. (I think she'll let me have the machete I've been after now!) Any-old-hoo, maybe worth a watch if you can tear yourself away from the football.

    Anyone watch this earlier on C4? Drama-docu about the National Grid going down for a week. I like to think I'm prepared and resourceful and could probably get by, but it frightened me to death ! If you watched it, what are your thoughts on such a thing happening ?
