    If we'd stuck with the coal-fired, we'd be producing more of our own power and tens of thousands of men would still be in work ! (Had to get that one in!) The Sizewell 'C' nuclear plant (if it ever gets built) will mean that British consumers will be buying their electricity from a French company (EDF), who produce it in a plant built by the Chinese ! The level of infrastructure has not kept pace with increased demand, and I don't enjoy being a pessimist, but I genuinely wonder if we will be able to keep the lights on in the coming few years.     I can't believe anyone would oppose us being self-sufficient in gas for decades - they'd rather we stayed in hock to the Russians and the Arabs !

    We've just moved to a smaller bungalow, thank God. Mind you, we also switched to British Gas when we came here!!

    I started out on Super H-point, but couldn't get a good group past about 20 yards, so I switched to Superdomes and 'hey presto!' Try a few other pellets and find the one that's best for your rifle - what works in someone else's rifle might be useless in yours, even if your shooting the same model ! Asking around, Superdomes and Accupels seem popular, but you'll have fun trying pellets out - any excuse to shoot !! Good luck Lewis.

    Now they're saying that work isn't necessarily a way out of poverty......................... What other ways have the likes of us got, since we're not multi-millionaires like Mr. Cameron? Who elected these f***ing idiots ????? They tell you to 'switch and find the best deal', but the big 6 energy suppliers all charge about the same, and all put their prices up by about the same amount, at the same time !! Sounds like a cartel to me, and I thought cartels were illegal. Come to think of it, why do they always put their prices up in winter ?? The British people are ripped-off

    The most telling part is that no-one present had taken issue, so how did the FA come to investigate a matter that no-one had complained about ? If anything, Hodgson should be investigated for telling shite jokes !!!

    You're right, mate. It depends on how they defined 'connected' and 'nature'. My guess would be that by 'connected to nature', they actually meant 'do you like going outdoors much?', and that none of the kids were asked to identify game species or set a mole trap ! I've also met loads of people who say things like 'you can't shoot Bambi' or 'don't they sell rabbit in Tesco?' and get panic attacks if they're more than a mile from KFC !

    The idea that the city has no connection to nature can be misleading.......................... If I mention Milton Keynes, for instance, concrete, sprawling estates and featureless motorways might spring to mind, but you couldn't be further from the truth. We have endless acres of parkland, woodland and open spaces - (most of the land in the town is managed by the Parks Trust). There are many lakes, a good stretch of both the River Ouse and the Grand Union Canal - more coastline than Jersey ! (It's true!)     I was treated by Mr McCann about a year after Madeleine went missing - I have seen him up close, I have looked him in the eye and I believe him to be a good and decent man. He and his wife made a decision that they have regretted every day since, and one that will haunt them for the rest of their days, whatever the outcome. How many parents leave their children unattended while on holiday, without incident? We only hear of one appalling tragedy, and how do some respond? By blaming the victims !

    Thanks, boys! I'm gonna get in touch with building control down at the Council and get some advice. Only dawned on me today that if I'm in a smoke control area, wood and coal are out the window - more complications ! I've told the wife that next time she has a good idea, she really should keep it to herself !!

    Mrs.B would love to have a log burner installed, but our new bungalow has no chimney. I know they can be flue'd straight out through the roof or an adjacent wall (our preferred option), but would this be as simple as making a hole through the wall and running the flue pipe through and up? Is it something you can do yourself or do you have to have professional input? Any other problems from your own experiences? All advice gratefully received - cheers, lads!
