  1. But he did like Guinea pigs Yes but not roasted, grilled, fried or curried...
  2. An anti through an through. Thinks he was 'in', thinks he was infiltrating, subliminally..! Yep, I could have left him on to be baited but why should we give one licence to stay an spout we talk here about all things hunting...!! Especially as he would have been telling others how to best get in... No, bin as soon as seen... Good folks of THL, in the words of the legendary Cammoman... "Keep 'em peeled"...
  3. I don't know much about 'em Pete but my mate has been looking to use a stud dog on his mini bushing mutts, maybe i'll take one of these an give it a go (without a cow bell..!!). I've been looking to get a busher on for a bit now but many seem saturated with beagle blood, not that there is anything wrong with that, just for me and what i've seen, they seem to work too far away for my needs. Maybe if I had more experience with the type I could get 'em to work closer but... I need sommat to work close, as most of the time i'l be out on my own and 'strolling' along. Running hell for leath
  4. Eer, right Harvey, so you are struggling with retrieving in your 22 week old pup and this 'training is done in the field, with the rabbits it has caught, which instead of retrieving 'em, it is eating them, have I got that right..??
  5. Couple of Wigan & district lads on Brad, enjoy the Forum.
  6. Nice pics again Mickey, though if you get any more of that mutt of yours doing what comes naturally, get 'em up..!
  7. I'd agree with that on just about every point fella... I've owned two Hancock dogs, though neither came direct and both were many moons ago. Both were very good work wise but one was 'very' needy in the kennel and the other was a bit rough around smaller dogs (fecking liability!) so we parted ways. I often think i'd try another, especially for the fact that I could rear it myself and get the best out of it BUT that picking and choosing runs collie stuff... I'd never take that gamble...
  8. This chunky girl, believe it or not, was quite a good rabbit dog in her day. She would both lamp and ferret very well, had some big hauls on the lamp with her too. I once went for a walk with a bloke an his Beddy type cur, over the dunes on a pleasant September evening and both dogs were mooching free, he was telling me all about those bull crosses I have, and how they were no good on the humble bunny and if I was to look for a rabbit dog, the type he owned was just the ticket..!! Quite convincing he was too, I was really starting to 'get' every word he spoke and he spoke a lot, until
  9. The long hair's are only out because there ain't any footy on...!!
  10. So if these things do exist, how come we don't ever see a stoat coloured ferret sized critter... and anyway, what fecking use would one be...!!!
  11. Not a cloud in the sky here... Bit of gardening and later out with my mates and their Mrs's. Lads I went to school with 30+ years ago ( ), always good to catch up, we normally get out a few times a year unless its a wedding, funeral, kids 21'st/18th etc... Starting off in the Phil (Philharmonic, a Liverpool institution)... towns ours tonight..
  12. I think Bolio an Derek are both 100% on the money but I do like seeing a good big 'un now an again...
  13. Best wishes to Joe for a speedy recovery...
  14. Some nice mutts here folks keep 'em coming...
  15. No Forrester, nowt to do with poor greyhound blood, didn't really think about it. Just that for what I was using my dogs for, half's were my pref choice. With the 3/4's and I'm talking about bull bloods here, they really didn't suit, too much greyhound blood, rather than inferior blood. These days i'm looking for a faster lurcher to lurcher bred dog next but i'd rather not have anything thats been put to a straight greyhound. For me, to increase speed i'd rather see a coursing mutt used or some other 'longdog' type but anyway, once you take the 1/2's, 3/4's an 5/8ths out the equasion to me

    Chillis!!!

Though I love most hot stuff and I can handle it going in, I do try to keep things within moderation, its the next day coming out that keeps me grounded....
  17. Forrester, you ain't 'fecked up' mate, just if your gonna put up a post about fractions, i'll always give my honest opinion and reading through this site for enough years convinces me that most folk are more interested in what makes up the dog and how that mix 'should' perform than what a dog, regardless of what it is, IS doing in the field.. On your fractions thing, with my bull bloods I always preferred half crosses, seen and owned some crackin 5/8ths but never seen a 3/4 I really liked (not to say they ain't out there!). As far as fractions are concerned, any others, to me, are irreleva
  18. I wish folk would stop thinking in 'fractions' and more on working ability....
  19. I'm same as Phil, like the Merle mutts, owned one, like to own another. Keep the pics coming.
  20. Mud, that the one you got off Moggy? Get some pics up..
  21. Very Happy Birthday John... Which boozer you heading out too... Maybe the Cockwell Inn..? Have a good 'un mate...
