  1. it was warlock what lined the deerhound bitch which billie g had and they where good allrounders if you know what i mean warlock was linebred out of otter and bullseye and which where pyes litter brother and sister I remember that litter, the biggest was a monster, stood about 31", looked like a Wolfhound, even Billy thought it too big and was given away as a pet. I think it lined two Saluki match dogs, one with Billy to produce Jack, which stood about 29" and killed plenty of hares and the other out of a bitch that went lame and ended her life as a companion pet for the big fecker. That
  2. Gotta be honest, I'm with Baw on this one, not that I really give two hoots anyway, the forum is for you, I'll moderate it as asked, whatever the content. I rarely look at the classified section only because its crap but if I look through ED RD, The Countryman's or years ago Exchange & Mart, it'd always be the classifieds that I went to first... I simply have a fascination on whats being both bred and offered.. Never bought anything from them though, just simply like looking.... No different than if I went to Clithero market.... Dogs have to be bred, surplus has to go and folks need do
  3. Love to see lurchers doing stuff like this, fantastic pics and a very nice dog.
  4. Now this boy can play... Stick with it, bout 2.30.... It'll get ya...!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NcTm0EAeQo
  5. No different that Ken Gould back in the day... Len could sell you the dog of all your 'Plummer dreams'.... Bull crosses, or his first love, Coursing.... he knew what sold and filled a gap. Bought React Fraggle the Cup winner and bred many a coursing mutt from it... Not a bad mutt to have in your dog, lets be honest!! Not saying the match men of the day were running his gear but if you wanted a dog to kill hares, Len's dogs did the job... an don't forget (Terrrminatorrrr Boy...!!) Same with his vet supplies too... Yer, he was a dealer BUT more so a character.... Feck me, who else w
  6. Say it as you see it but many Lakies carry Beddy blood... Seen many a Lakie looker with that 'down face' back in the 80's, some carried a 'top knot' too, so i'd always go with Beddy before EBT.. Maybe EBT blood is present in this 'Red' dog on the thred, I never seen it BUT i'd always go for Beddy blood for that weird 'down face' look before it in Lakies...Though you could always get a throwback, sommat that carry's EBT blood way back and its come out in a dog now. I've owned decent EBT's, decent hard dogs that is... None were small enough, or had the desire to stay below for any 'exten
  7. 62...?? Stone...!!!! Happy birthday plumbs...!! Just read, your younger than me..... Many happy returns mate...
  8. Don't be sayin stuff like that...!! Or most of us will never be able to own one...! When my bitch wins the forley I will gift you a pup mate ................ You got to get invited first,,lol Oh well that won't happen then ... They will be to afraid of a mere lurcher man taking their cup ......... Go 'ed those 'desert' Merle cur's...!!! :toast:
  9. Don't be sayin stuff like that...!! Or most of us will never be able to own one...!
  10. If you mean the tubs of Meat & Bonemeal that can be given as a supplement, then yer mate, i've been using it for years. I ain't got a pup right now so I can't post the contents but I find it a good source of protein & calcium for a growing pup and I know by reading it why i'm feeding it....!
  11. £500 to £1000.... Still not as much as a none working Border...!!!
  12. A place i've hunted over since I was a kid, though it gets a bit warmer each year... Nice to see the sea so close its a rare event...! SW next time your heading out there, drop me a pm, I'm 10 min away.
  13. Maybe its just me but sometimes you just can't see the wood for the trees, as in 'life and circumstance sometimes changes what you pick up on' and though they may be there, you just don't see 'em as you used too, if that makes sense? The other thing to think about is the fact that 'if' there are none what made 'em go (die out) and would the same happen as soon as you re-introduced. If it was me, before I went to the task of sourcing trapped Stoats, I'd really check both if they are still there, and if not, what may have made 'em go and I'd betcha you'll find a few surprises along the way...
  14. Not defending the man in any way but the lurcher world needs its characters and he is certainly one... Be a very dull world if we were all the same...
  15. Don't know but this is always a pleasant day out... I'll be there...
  16. Feck me...! The older I get the more I appreciate a bit of summer, still love me winters but don't go wishing me life away....!
  17. Funny ain't it, we have a Canary, because if we didn't have it it would have died and three years later its still fecking here... BUT I hate birds in cages, sommat that always looks wrong to me... Each to their own...
  18. IMO, the only thing that has 100% worked on knocked toe is rest... Any other treatments i've both seen an used have never been proven, other than the rest the dog was given at that time along with the 'meds', including vet treatment! To me, the bottom line in' digits gone wrong' is patience.... Sadly, few have such treatments readily available...!! Edited to add... Just how short should you crop a dogs nail to...? Because IMO anyone who gets their mutt out enough will/should have short enough nails to see 'em through a few weeks lead only walks, without putting pressure on that bad toe
  19. I'd twat it for that...!!!
