Stood on a nest tonight walking the dogs and got stung by one that had gone in the top of my boot without realising. Hopefully it doesn't go wrong like last time.
I've neglected the plot a bit lately but when I went today there's a few decent sized pumpkins on the plant (which is taking over the plot) and plenty of smaller ones. I put in a snowman pumpkin plant too which is just flowers at the mo.
Out of interest why would border be used to outcross? I'm not knocking borders in any way just can't see why you'd cross one with a beddy. If you were wanting to bring the size down and put a bit of work back into them then a little curly coated fell type would do the job better?
I had this done in pastels by someone who was a member on the forums mum and she caught him to a T.
You see some shocking portrait artists advertising on facebook etc.
I only ever had a juvenile smithi but it was a hair flicking tw@, the worst I had was a curly hair.
I often think about getting some more spiders but the ladies of the house would not be happy. My favourite was my Psalmopeus irminia.
Non native wild animals are still wild regardless of where they are not feral. Would a true feral dog that had been bred for generations in the wild be tameable like feral cats can from a young age or would they still be wild?
I've seen on here about an island which has a healthy population of feral ferrets that have been there a very long time so I wonder if they still carry the domesticated traits like being tractable or are they mad like proper poleys? If they were able to be tamed it would be a good way of getting back some old working strains.
I used to keep tarantula too, my first ever one (Chile rose) bit me and I never got bit by the quicker more aggressive species I kept. I nearly shit my kecks though when a cobalt blue tried to run up my arm.
