    My next door neighbours garden is solid mares tail and I pull any bits coming up on my side and it seems to stop bothering trying to come this direction.

    True but I have also seen show labs with zero hip scores and other clear health tests so at least some of the breeders are trying to make them better. Them slope backed weak legged shepherds are horrible things aren't they.
