  1. Brilliant that I love to see them work like that. Mine uses the same technique but on my ground I try and get a stop net down quick before he goes in. Very rare that pans out lol
  2. Well they offered me a third plot yesterday. I was in two minds as two is hard enough to keep ontop of. But I get it free this year then i want to keep it next year i would have to pay. I decided to give it a go as it has some fruit tucked away which is worth picking. Plus it will be nice to cut down the weeds that keep blowing onto mine which is next door. I half expected to bump into david attenborough the initial plan was to just strim it and pinch all the fruit. But I couldn't help but have a little dig I was chuffed to see the soil wa
  3. then again if you have a dog thats used to seeing 50 rabbits every time it goes out how would it do in a spot where you might have 1 rabbit for bloody miles lol. The dogs with shortage of game have to work hard to find stuff but they never gain the experience which is needed but they get experience finding hard to find rabbits and using there hooters rather than trip over a rabbit every twenty yards I would imagine

  5. I think its great. Quite few folks use there various dogs for shooting. Nice to be versatile. Mine comes in hide with me. He does not contribute but I like the company. In fact this was the day I dropped a pigeon and he bolted for it taking the net with him. He made it a few yards before getting balled up in camo net leaving me sat there like a lemon on me stool. His scared of feathers too which is handy lol
  6. Could be florescent pink it won't make a jot of difference apart from you can see it better lol . I would have thought anyway. Even if rabbits can see florescent pink when they have a blitz in the face would it matter any way
  7. bloody superb well done. I don't give up on much but i have to admit my dog is not even remotely close to fetching sod all lol. This describes mine to a T (after a YEAR of ineffectual ball games, consisting mainly of him running around with ball in mouth for ages) Good for you
  8. how does that work out of interest ?
  9. pigeons do a lot of damage. I never realised how much until I caught the buggers at it. Nothing is safe really and I never have me dam catty with me when i need it lol. Any thing I am not prepare to lose I net or cover some how. I planted out some beets and lettuce the other night and threw some mesh over them as I didn't have time for the scaffold net and they wouldn't last a day with out some thing they seem to leave me leeks alone i think but thats about it
  10. exactly that's why I pop a glow stick on mine just so I can see him coming back and he tends to stop a few feet short and sit down. Many time on black night I have been waiting while his been sat in front of me lol Saw tjones mention the glow stick once and I like it. I enjoy seeing a pink light coming straight back to me with out any little detours well most the time

  18. bargain good reels them espeacially for the old rough. I used to have one till I left it in a bag behind the car and drove off with 300 quid of other gear sat in the car park I bloody lept out bed the next morning when I suddenly twigged but too late
  19. I was watching this today I enjoy seeing dogs work like that using the snout and nice and steady. Makes a change from the normal crash bang wallop lol reminded me of my dog at the beginning for all of 3 seconds then the similarity quickly disappeared . But then horses for courses and all that
  20. I stick a couple of glow sticks on my black sod so could save few pennies
  21. I am the same as you but even though its only a few yards from the boot to the gate I pretty much all ways have his lead.Because from the boot he can see over the wall plus he uses his snout. I can pass a cat now on lead but I know my dog lol. We might get there one day Noticed its just the coloured kit that has his attention with a sly look now and again. The other kit is white though god knows why that matters. But he is coming even if I have to sit in the yard for an hour every night. We all ways get there in the end
