So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?
terryd replied to JohnGalway's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Beans coming out my ears now the runners are also picking up speed a simple snack and a simple dinner. My gran used to cook this as a kid it was a fav of mine. Fry some bacon then lob a tin of toms or fresh ones in this case on top with a bit bisto or beef granules so basically beefy tom flavour going on. Then lob it on top of some mash with home grown spuds and a slice of bread I also wish I still had a van as I really pee the wife off -

aye good stuff Jok -
Thats true I had a hand full of builders that wouldn't go near the gate the other day until the wife said it was ok. He has a dam deep menacing bark and the looks to match. Not an attribute I wanted but the house and family are safe with him in it

I just seen the same question on facebook and pinch the tops out and lob few banana skins about seems the way -
Made a start tonight disassembling my first pallet. Got some nice new ones. But the nails are not thin wire things but bloody great things driven right in. Saw a youtube vid of some guy with two boards just levering the lengths off. But no chance first bit of pressure and all i heard was crack crack. Next plan was to get the aldi parktool saw out with the metal blade fitted and saw through the nails. Made some progress with that though bit slow. But the boards came off nice and clean. Wonder if a nice sharp bolster would work

If you looking for a recipe good one here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/326279-easy-blackberry-jam/ microwave jam is the way to go saves a lot of pissing about and you don't need to make a ton at a time. Made a cracking raspberry one this year using a women's institute recipe

Thanks every one runem you obviously got around the lack of length by going 3 tier. Do the floors sweep clean ok ? Looks very nice and solid too
-
Just looked and I got a gooseberry one 2 years old and no mold
-
Sterilise the jars proper and it will keep fine and once opened keep in the fridge. I don't all ways bother and it often gets left out and is fine. I have jam from last year I think and its fine

Any one got any pictures. Looking for a bit of inspiration. Got a few nice pallets put to one side and need a new hutch soon. First problem none of the lengths will be long enough so will have to join them. Next is the weight if I want a two story job. Then there is the floors as ideally need to be smooth so might have to fork out for a bit of ply

Bit odd he does have a good reputation

You can but try. Get the kits in a run playing about and chuntering and judge the terriers intentions and go from there. Even if you did that every day for a year if that is what it takes. Don't make a big thing about it just pop them in the run then take the terrier for a walk some where as a little routine. Just be careful when you opening the door and they come bowling out what the terrier is doing. Good luck

Had a beddy whippet once that was so quiet you never new she was about. Very small and never in the way and you could pop under your arm. Extremely laid back but she could certainly nail rabbits. A real pleasure. That was just her and they are all different mind But by the sound of it you don't want some rip roaring hunting machine at least if you want a quiet life. Little bit of a lottery I guess but you can try and get things in your favour

sure any fox would enjoy being pummelled to the ground by 30 hounds wearing cage muzzles

My girls having the odd outing but they are not overly enthusiastic This was by a road side so I said if there is one in the net let the dog hold it until I get back around. Well there was a mighty kerfuffle when one got netted in the hedge and mr no half measures grabbed it with the fence and half the hedge and proceeded to try and a drag the whole lot out of the hedge. She was in a bit of pickle when I back around lol

Seem to have lost a fair few spuds to the blight. Hard to see as well unless you give them a good squeeze. but not to worry plenty are ok and will be on the ball more next year. I remember checking them and thinking I need to get the haulms off but was pushed for time so left it until the weekend which was too late. emptied a dalek and got some good stuff handy to mulch the purple sprouting they need a bit of help lol fresh veg for dinner very big in compost no more lob in a corner to get covered in stingers
