  1. I got a tin to try on rats at 20-25yds
  2. I would agree with you there mate...except about the ass. We say arse in Britain. Ass is a kind of horse I think that seems to confuse the yanks.
  3. A lot of gun shops sell used guns on a commision basis for the owner and usually give a months grace with the gun to the new owner (you) so you have plenty of time to find any faults. I wouldnt buy used from a shop unless they did that. Ask about it though because they may not advertise it. Good luck..I would wait for a hw100 if I were you even if you had to save a bit more money. They are great guns.
  4. Small meals of goats milk, beef mince or chicken and good kibble like redmills racer or similar,if its going to work for a living otherwise just bread and jam
  5. Sandwell field sports are ok whilst things are going well, but when theres a problem its a diffrent matter. There are much better gun shops around, but you dont see them on youtube!! thank god ££££
  6. Do you mean Tony wanted 50notes to put right a gun he had tuned. Was the seal still intact?
  7. I would like to get a shot of one before I buy if anyone is willing?
  8. Anybody shoot this calibre in 18-20ft lb ? What pellets do you use?
  9. Thats true. Its just when you want to practice and have a few shots. I had a 50ft lb rifle that did 17shots max in .25 but it was a hell of a killer and accurate. It had a very soft recoil. Do you think they will do fac in the B type?
  10. watch that chain dont break
  11. great pictures. What are they running there?
  12. the Pawle one is a lovely little book. Ive got the Paget book aswell if you want to buy it?
  13. I use panacur. I worm the bitch aswell from the 42nd day .5ml per 2kg i think. That way the bitch is clear and doesnt give the newborn worms through the milk. You give it until 2 days after shes whelped. Then worm pups has usual to be sure.
  14. If you are going out shooting things, then you are going to inflict suffering on animals. Why do you think they have pickers up on pheasant shoots? Lots of birds are injured on driven days. The best you can and should do is follow up and finish the job which you did. You can attempt perfect kill shots every time but you cant ever hope for 100% rate. Just shooting at something that moves is enough to complicate things without the wind, twigs or other variables. You did the right thing shooting it again in the head. Otherwise hold it firmly around body and wings and sharply crack its head off the
  15. yeah I think it might be quieter aswell. I like fac air rifles but the shot count on that Wolverine seems ridiculous,12 or 15 thats not much fun if thats true. Whats the recoil like? Have you shot an air ranger?
  16. Thanks mate ........ I couldn't agree more but I am a little biased . I've put a fair bit of work into these and i'm looking forward to the rewards. they're definitely characters and they have been a pleasure . Well Ive only seen them hunting Hares, but its nice to see them working things out for themselves. They have to most of the time, there aint many huntsmen can keep with them for long without horses!
  17. they look nice strong pups.clever little hounds Beagles.
  18. Ive just crossed a Cairn with a Hunt terrier but i cant think what to call them!
  19. Just for the record... NEVER fire any proper rifle into the air period and that includes bushes, trees, wall top etc, in fact anywhere you do not have a verifiable background behind the object that acts as a proper safe bullet stop. I believe from memory an elevated .22 LR round is dangerous to a range of 1.5 MILES (it's usually printed on the boxes). (When elevated it a bullet follows a parabolic curve and with the right angle of elevation that becomes the max range for .22 LR)!!!!) Centre-fire is considerably more dangerous, from memory I've seen warnings of 3 miles or more!
  20. Anyone shooting an fx boss or wolverine?
