  1. If you really want to go hunting you can make time by simply being irresponcible. Ive been doing it for years.
  2. What kind of terriers have you got?
  3. Has said go to a greyhound vet and get it xrayed. Wrist injuries are finnishers if you mess about. Not enough rest is usually the undoing of any injury treatment.
  4. Its not that easy. There is a good vid on youtube. Make sure you have the right punch etc and dont break the brittle trigger. Well worth doing though, especially for long shots when you dont want any movement at all.
  5. first place I looked while trying too source a bedlington was George Newcombe he at that time did not have any pups for sale but put me onto another fella who I met at George Newcombe's house brilliant old guy and it was a pleasure to meet him anyway the lad brought two pups for me too choose from I made my choice. And paid my money and then repented at my leisure as I said worst terrier I have ever owned and was bred from workers I later found out the pups were far too inbred Was that Johnny Williams? Inbreeding to workers should increase not decrease the chances of producing workers.
  6. As a mooching, versatile hunting companion the right Beddy would be a more than useful dog to have in the kennel,i cannot stress strongly enough the trouble you will have sourcing the right un,most are bred from ribbon chasing, shivery arsed dross. As Topper states they are not Fells/Lakies and if you want that type of mutt id stay well clear of Beddy,s,on the whole, there are some about that will still hold their own in a digging kennel, bloody scarce though. If you wanted a vesatile terrier that would also work fox, then id look at sourcing a decent bred un and you will never want anything else. The
  7. Get it out early and let it see stock. Put him on a long lead and yank him back if/when he runs at the sheep or horses. Get him in a chicken run if you can and just scold him for showing interest. Its all best done early if you can.Remember some pups wont take too much scolding.
  8. Bed only needs to be a foot off the floor to avoid drafts and should be removable for cleaning and bedding injured dogs on the floor as a temporary measure. I use heat lamps all winter for dogs without good jackets like Greyhounds. Treat em like heroes even when theyre shit. Thats what I say.
  9. My mate has had two Plummers. They were both shit..
  10. Perhaps he going to shoot that dog!

  12. Its alright these dogs who dont make it as earth dogs being used elswhere but they can find there way into proper working blood if your not careful and set it back years. If they dont go to ground I get rid to pet home or destroy.

  17. When I worked with Greyhounds (long time ago) they used to get glucose in the breakfast. I couldnt see the point of this because when i took it myself i only got a burst of energy which soon burned off,so I stopped using it on my own dogs. When a deerhound/grey bitch i used to have got bad cramping after a gruler I gave her electrolites BEFORE and after coursing which cured it. This bitch was trained and fed the best. She had a massage every day wether running or not,but the supplement did the trick for me. The day the hunting act came into being she coursed and killed two Hares. The point is
  18. Doesnt everything sound American today.D ya kinda know where im coming from dude? I use electrolites after work. I give Feramo and cod liver oil every other day. My dogs are fed on traditional stews with meat and veg with a sprinkle of good meal like Aussie formula. I think stews help to keep moisture in the dog and they love it. I also give some calci D. to pups plus goats milk and eggs to them aswell as to the workers in winter. I feed terriers exactly the same. I think its important though to always look at each dog individually especially with regards to portions. All dogs need to be obse
