  1. theres a good chance you can bring them back if they were good mates before the fight. Its better imo if there was a clear winner, and the other will give way in future. In a dogs world someone has to be in charge.
  2. they have to pass here aswell mate or they go in the wheelybin.
  3. Isnt that true of any terrier breed though, and what is the right price? I imagine people who have managed to breed a good strain of terrier have "making a fortune at the right price" very low on there list of priorites, because puppy farming and genuine working dogs dont go together.
  4. I wouldnt buy a dog without looking into to it and getting to know if its bred right. All im saying is once you have done your research and you find a dog/pup you really want then just buy it despite what you think of the price. Its just the price. If you cant afford it just dont buy it but dont miss out on a good dog for a few quid, its only money. If the dog turns out no good its the time you regret not the money imo. What Im saying is seriously think about the breeding and how genuine that is instead of clouding your mind with the money.
  5. Do you mean a mill or walking machine run off electric?
  6. All my dogs seem to like eating Cleavers. they all have a bit from the hedgerow every morning especially the terriers. I think it supposed to be good for the kidneys and preventing kidney stones. It might have something to do with a high meat diet.
  7. main meals should be good beef minced from a butchers, which shouldnt be too expensive if you only have one dog. With that put a bit of quality puppy food around 30% protien and whole fat goats milk, never cows milk because it gives them squits. Whole rabbit with guts out once a week, and throw whats left away. Tripe is only around 7% protein so i wouldnt bother with that. atb J..
  8. Ive never bartered over the price of a dog in my life. If i want it I will pay what is asked. If i dont think its worth it I just keep my mouth shut.
  9. there were some in countrymans week a two back 7month old i think £500 jabbed aswell
  10. We cut quite a lot of Hawthorn winter before last. Its great in a woodburner/cooker. We couldnt get this year because of wet,but still got plenty of Ash and tree stakes.
  11. Not true not all vixens will move cubs if somebody or something goes near an earth at all i know of alot of earths i keep an eye on that are cubbed in and they dont grab cubs and run theres an earth 300m from my house in a chestnut wood ive walked past it everyday this week with my lurchers and they have a sniff and mark it everytime i go past and they have not been moved and rare they have been over the years [/ quote] Sorry mate but not believing that either . I couldnt give a f**k what you belive to be honest Either your lurchers are marking nothing or your
  12. It would not be too close if dog and bitch are strong and healthy and dont share any faults that you wouldnt want repeated or stamping in.
  13. But needs to be dug in the first place by something thats not there.OR does he mean they aint there now. I think so.
  14. doesnt need to be dug by a fox to be used by a fox
  15. Thats exactly right. With all the negative OLD b*****ds on here its no suprise the antis think they can win. To have a free vote at this time would be guaranteed suicide.
  16. If I could just hark back to the topic...You can only breed to your own standards unless you are breeding for a market which will make demands on the stock you breed if you want repeat business..If you breed for yourself and friends you will know what you want and the surplus in my opinion are best put down. Has for going out with other folks and there dogs, what goes on on those days/nights should be kept between yourselves. Its a well known fact that if you praise a dog up or bragg about it He will definately let you down in company. Ive seen people out with terriers/hounds/lurchers and the be
  17. Everthing is dead on the land where ive been.Thats because ive got a Bullx
  18. Performance type canines,.be they 'match dogs, battle dogs, racers or critters with a penchant for pursuing and killing a prey, that bites back',..have often been sold on,...generally to like minded enthusiasts, who wish to enjoy and experience the thrills that such beasts provide. Well said. Sometimes a change is good for the dog too. When dogs are not good for what they were bred for they are best pts imo but sometimes a good dog can change hands for the better.
  19. It could be a hereditry condition in some terriers.Weve had it in Russells. I dont think it gets better if its that but you do need to see a vet.
  20. My mates got a plummer bitch thats in pup.He aint the type to breed for money or show.
  21. They think Irony is what you use to make shovels.
  22. It all comes down to dominance of genes Tozer. Selection from crossbred litters is the key to getting the type you are after. Most people have sold the greater part of a litter before it really takes shape. I would suggest you keep back at least 3 of the pups from a litter that you think are in the region of what you want and grow them on a bit.
