yes i have mate.Killed a cock pheasant the other day with a neck shot.
  2. The rub is with these kc peds unless you know someone who can give you background and tell you all they know themselves about the dogs on them then you are not in a good place. Once you delve into the family tree of your dog then you have to be prepared to take it good or bad. There is faults and disappointments in all pedigrees. I have spent years before getting to truths abou ta dogs breeding. A knowledgable person can help fill in a lot of gaps for you in a short time, which can help you decide which way you want to breed yourself in the future. Being paranoid doesnt really help.
  3. transporting to England is usually simple with the Greyhound transport I think.
  4. Spaniels will push foxes out, especially if you dont condition them to quartering and just let them hunt from a puppy.

I only had it on i think the 2nd setting. I would only really use it on rats and rabbits at a push. Its not really very sporting but effective for rats.
  6. You can read this one if you like.
  7. Your not seriously making that judgement from that photo? It would need to be on level flags to see that.

We shot 11 rats tonight with this bit of kit. Its very good on a hw100 shooting from about 20yds in total darkness. .177 with bisley mags.
  11. Anyone read a book called mr Spinks and his hounds?
  12. What was the Scottish pack? Buchannan was master wasnt he?
  13. Some people get the wool pulled over and they dont like it. Its good to know honest people who can help you understand your pedigree. Sometimes it can take years to find a dogs real background. There are so many fckin liars out there.
  14. If you really want to go hunting you can make time by simply being irresponcible. Ive been doing it for years.
  15. What kind of terriers have you got?
  16. Has said go to a greyhound vet and get it xrayed. Wrist injuries are finnishers if you mess about. Not enough rest is usually the undoing of any injury treatment.
  17. Its not that easy. There is a good vid on youtube. Make sure you have the right punch etc and dont break the brittle trigger. Well worth doing though, especially for long shots when you dont want any movement at all.
  18. first place I looked while trying too source a bedlington was George Newcombe he at that time did not have any pups for sale but put me onto another fella who I met at George Newcombe's house brilliant old guy and it was a pleasure to meet him anyway the lad brought two pups for me too choose from I made my choice. And paid my money and then repented at my leisure as I said worst terrier I have ever owned and was bred from workers I later found out the pups were far too inbred Was that Johnny Williams? Inbreeding to workers should increase not decrease the chances of producing workers.
  19. As a mooching, versatile hunting companion the right Beddy would be a more than useful dog to have in the kennel,i cannot stress strongly enough the trouble you will have sourcing the right un,most are bred from ribbon chasing, shivery arsed dross. As Topper states they are not Fells/Lakies and if you want that type of mutt id stay well clear of Beddy,s,on the whole, there are some about that will still hold their own in a digging kennel, bloody scarce though. If you wanted a vesatile terrier that would also work fox, then id look at sourcing a decent bred un and you will never want anything else. The
  20. Get it out early and let it see stock. Put him on a long lead and yank him back if/when he runs at the sheep or horses. Get him in a chicken run if you can and just scold him for showing interest. Its all best done early if you can.Remember some pups wont take too much scolding.
  21. Bed only needs to be a foot off the floor to avoid drafts and should be removable for cleaning and bedding injured dogs on the floor as a temporary measure. I use heat lamps all winter for dogs without good jackets like Greyhounds. Treat em like heroes even when theyre shit. Thats what I say.
