I know what you're saying RH but I personally like to see a young terrier running a few empty spots. IMO the terrier that's most likely to waste time is one with heart that wont take no for an answer. If a young terrier is game and thinks every earth is holding it will spend a long time checking, checking and checking again thus wasting time. A young terrier with a good nose that knows some earths hold and some don't will quickly check and tell you what's what. Another thing I don't buy is checking earths by a quick sniff at the entrance and on you go. Unless it's a small place the only way

Would you run a marathon without having food for 12hrs I don't think so.The pro cyclists are eating energy bars high energy food during a race.if they fasted for 12hrs before the race they would be running on an empty tank. Each to there own.... my dog is a good cyclist but he keeps falling off bike when he's trying to take wrapper off energy bar and injuring himself I think he would do better if I stop giving them to him lol. not acceptable jiggy...he needs PTS!

only time pups should be handled is to dock them at 3 days old.... not all excited like a woman to tell folk what the bitch had or what was dogs/ bitches! if you own the bitch having pups its not rocket science to know shes scratching and circling trying to make a bed.... shes about to pup! be prepared have her bed and and a warm stressful place to pup..... a vet to call to your place to dock them .... when he is on his farm visits... and never give money to a vet who is interested in anial welfare..... its the wefare of the animal....that you want to get to know.

5 days is too late to dock pups.... by that time the cartilage has started to form into bone, too much pain, blood and stress.

we dog did what came naturally to him. = job done.... hope he keeps going in the right direction for you. I agree with pick and bar though, better now if you can try and see if you get one in its natural environment....

most Xs with terrier in the mix, will try to get to ground, like springer terrier X bedlington greyhound X cocker patt and so on..... if there wired right there whole DNA set up will be to find and flush...ive seen many try and get to there quarry and annoyance to me is the owner thinking this is great when it should be after a shout its out and terrier in., but seen very few actually dug with quarry and to me can be a hinderence if there 4ft up the burrow and you cant get tailing them, and they wont come back.... seen quite a few times landing at a 15 eyer... during all that commotion the fo

this topics quite ironic when the rev Russell himself was a founder of the KC a dog dealer and a profound puppy peddler who set out the breed standard with no mention of work and lets be honest not really a terrier man! not ALL men aren't interested in the queens head or a 1st in show.

Another conviction brought on League evidence is overturned Lee Martin, an employee of the Middleton hunt, was yesterday successful at York Crown Court in his appeal against his conviction for 'interfering with a badger sett'. The case was a classic example of the increasingly questionable tactics of some animal rights charities. The 'evidence' against Mr Martin was gathered by League Against Cruel Sports (LACS) employees using static cameras and trespassing on private property. Their evidence was, of course, that the hole in the ground Mr Martin was accused of interfering with was an active

so if your walking to a burrow say a farmers asked you to check... you know the land so select the terrier you need for the job depending on age and experience it may be a new spot you have been asked to check by a farmer..... you telling me you cant tell by the way the terriers acting there has been activity and you think might be in here men, and 9 out of 10 the terriers right, this happens consistently over from being a young terrier pup being entered correctly to a second season terrier dug regularly ?..... I have been out a thousand times and lifted a terrier over a fence, and been 40 y

you shouldn't have to point your terrier anywhere, that's what its been bred for.... to find and stay... I agree some holes your terrier will have to work for it, first of to find if its rangey, dig on with conviction if tight and when it gets where it needs to be.... if the fox doesn't want to bolt, it has to be able to persuade it to a stop, then stay and do its job...if a terrier with 2 good seasons over it cant fit that criteria and do this on a regular basis, then it would be back to the equation book for me.

a good terrier knows 1s at home 10 - 15 yards before he even gets to the hole, and a good terrierman will be able to read the signals his dog is giving out as they approach the hole. Just the same way you will see a gundog pick up a line and let you know there's a bird about so get ready. a good terrier will do the same, and no matter the size of the hole they should find, that's what the black thing on the end of its face is for..... its called a nose and that's the thing with most terriers bred these days, there bred by individuals who think a terrier with 30-40 handy digs over it its ready

if he is kept indoors and is shampooed or washed regularly he may be getting a reaction from the mixture in that, dogs have there own natural oils to wash their coat but sometimes when folk keep them indoors... their family members like them to smell like ferbreeze, not good for the dog its immunity or its nose.... washing dogs often can cause problems for the dogs coat its natural immunity and scenting ability especially if its a young pup and exposed to said environments regularly, hope you get it sorted.....

Its a well planned scam this has been planned since the start of the EU... and its all too take what tiny bit of freedom we have left! Let all the riff raff in from other countries and the ordinary people will be crying for more laws to keep the boogey men at bay when what should really happen is that your people should topple your very government.... you only have to look at the pantomime of a government we have and whats happening here in Stormont at the minute to see what a complete joke the suits really are..... psychopaths the lot of them.

The NYPD & FDNY were running about for a good 2 hours telling everyone to get back the buildings were going to collapse and me being from Northern Ireland and growing up in the troubles I know what bombs sound like and there was a lot that seemed to be going off that day
