It has no mention in the hunting act of taking vermin\predator I.e. a fox with a lurcher on the run it does not allow you to draw the animal as that is classed as baiting but on the run is exempt! Hunting and animal fights are totally different hunting is using dogs bred specifically to HUNT not fight! Hare coursing as an organised event is illegal! People need to know what there talking about before they start talking.

I have been up and running on my own about 4 months now, I have the RSPH level 2 and I am registered with BASIS and BPCA... I worked for a big firm for about 8 months and too be honest the company was just bait box bashing, and didn't do any wildlife management so I decided to go out on my own..... hmmm still wondering if it was the right thing to do... long hours and a lot of driving...expensive to set up on your own and a awful lot of paper work and paper trail... I do pest control and wildlife management so its starting too pick up with farm work and golf courses once word gets round you c -
get someone with a working terrier to have a walk around the perimeter of the area where the chickens are with you, it may very well be a vixen nursing and you would want to make sure to get any cubs along with her..... that's the most humane and effective way you will get your predator...tried and tested over hundreds of years.

clip all the dogs tight...7mm blade...give them all a hit with spot on and give your yard and sleeping boxes a wash down with Parvo PX....repeat after 12 weeks.. hope you get it sorted for the dogs sake.

its knowledge...not SKILL finds the terrier... where to bar where to listen too.... what too listen for... and the art of blocking out the wind the rain the wet under your jeans you shouldn't have wore out... the banter going on beside you work the next day and many other things...... its tuning in to doing a job professionally and humanely....to be honest the terrier and quarry really don't mind whats going on above... there quite happy sizing each other up... after all its only natural they encounter the same thing daily with territory food breeding and so on...just humans love to tell folk
