    Unfortunately terrier work it seems has become a fashion again ...correct me if im wrong, but with so much propaganda and slander within the terrier work its like we are signing it away by holographic ego and not where it counts, mixing and mingling in PERSON with people! yes we all learnt somewhere... but we only got to learn from meeting the coorect folk by being correct! My advice would be dont think the hunting lifes the place to learn or ask stuff...

    lol...relax yourself...you will pull a ham string! do you know many blocks way local rivers running through them? so its not really a walk round the block! probably 3-4 miles to the nearest river...and thats cutting through fields..local traffic passing other dog walkers and there steroided up family pet... the list could go on...then the same back... oh and by the way...the digs you talk about or the lamping... so many hours...thats were me and you will differ...you spend your time in a workshop perfecting what my two feet can do......

    the only difference in now and then is the internet..... if were going to be totally honest and real about this!     mite be a long shot here but if they are classing it as fallen stock, because the estate have tickets for culls and have to dispose of any lairage or belly and bone parts responsibly! with the Enviromental Agency.... and since you purchased the animal now they have left the disposal up to you? look at the stalking ticket terms and conditions.....or could be just the police state we are unfortunately living in these days ... i wish you the best in your outcome though!

    lol...because the scenario you gave was different! if a fox entered and exited a hole while under pressure from hounds and 2 marked...and i run it with a terrier and he entered and exitied i would say the fox had passed through there in the last hour....but if i went to a bankin and a fox hadnt passed through in a while i would not expect nor want a terrier to enter just to keep your mind at rest! does that explain it for you??

    no dytkos!...he would know that the fox had entered the burrow and run straight out through a different enterance and would follow the line the fox went....not hang about an earth doing unnessacery laps appeasing its owner....or the hunt staff......its a terrier working a fox...over 250 years of hard wiring...if bred right.... fed right and entered right.... its a terrier and terriers love to go underground and find and stay with quarry..... if not then it doesnt deserve the great title of terrier!

    i have a terrier bitch here its her first season... only 4 digs over her 1st place we went to bout 8 weeks ago was red raw and plenty a signs...bitch checked was away about 3 mins...juked out ran it again about another 3 mins.... said no so we dander on... was a wee bit apprehensive as its her first season but trusted not only her but 100% trust in the man who bred her and that is also very important!, go to next spot 2 hedgerows about 30 burrows lined along a bank and 2 entrances out in a field...as we go in the gate 2 rabbits get up about 100 yards ahead on first ditch...and watch them drop.
