  1. Reeves and Mortimer do a very funny sketch from Kes. Its the one where his school teacher visits him when he's flying his bird. Can't put the link up but it's on YouTube. Great film Kes. "Who are you this week sir, Denis law?" "No, Bobby Charlton, anyway Denis law's in The wash this week". Classic
  2. Picture a bell end with a beret on = Corbyn
  3. Coming from a red top rag and staunch labour paper. There were more in the local park. Fook all on national news. Jog on
  4. Seemed a nice bloke and always caught your attention when he was on the box
  5. Have a safe journey Andrew, wherever you are, rip
  6. Budgie123, that's educated me. What an interesting read that was ?? The three Bs...I'll remember that one?
  7. It doesn't stop me from appreciating his films. He's not harmed me or mine. You either get the hunting thing or you don't. All I ask is that the antis show some tolerance, I can't help having the instinct and hunting gene in me. Toodle oo Rog ?
  8. I don't know about "the man" but I love to watch them. Anything by Nick Davies, eminent professor at Oxford, he had two excellent books on the subject. Join the BTO, they do great work concerning cuckoo migration and tagging. A good read are the two books by Edgar Chance. He studied the cuckoo in the 1920s and filmed the actual dirty deed for the first time. YouTube him, fascinating old film. I've lots of old scientific papers on the subject that I've picked up here and there. Keep us posted ?
  9. All those you've heard will be males will they, unless you've heard a female "bubbling"?
  10. Lovely nest and a good find of a hard to see bird these days. I've actually got real close to these on the nest
  11. Unusual large clutch, maybe lose several of those
  12. Looks like a moorhens to me. I've got a grey wagtail building in a recess on a door lock that I open every day. Same bird used it last year and raised 5 chicks. There will be an egg in tomorrow or Wednesday I'd say.
  13. Nowt wrong with that, looks a good healthy dinner. I pick stuff up myself ?
  14. I thought this was about Harris Hawks being let loose on the countryside!?
  15. They're all the same and piss in the same pot but the tories are countryside supporters and I spend more time there than anywhere. Not much to base a vote on but there's not much else that appeals to me

    Acid Reflux

Discussion on radio 2 about acid reflux now. Get it on catch up, Jeremy vine show
  17. No photos from me. I do the task and move on if I'm asked to. I took a photo of some Canada chicks the other day that came running up to me and my wife. Lovely things...and if they stay where they are, a park, then great. I was out this morning very early at the request of a landowner. I'd removed a clutch from her pond at the end of April, now there's a moorhen sitting on eggs and the grass is growing in the paddock for her horses. Geese are still turning up so I need to shift them or deter them. It's the old story, if I didn't do it, someone else would.
  18. You'd kill them just for the hell of it, then ? I control them throughout the year so why wait until they're causing more bother, spreading decease etc, just to give them a few more weeks life? So not for the hell of it. I've mink on my valley too, so I'll leave the young and let the parents run havoc while they look fluffy? Different reasons but control is needed
  19. I'd have put a shotgun shell through them
  20. More to the point Socks...wtf is a game of smarties? ?

    Fogles Ok

Fair play to Ben Fogle. I don't normally have time for the long necked twat but nice to see him advocating kids learning how to use knives, (under supervision) and light fires etc in today's Mail. Did me no harm when I was a kid and it does away with all the mystery of their use and teaches kids to respect how to handle certain things. I did the same with mine, including letting them light fireworks, while I told them what to do. It does them no harm ?
  22. Got the bottom photo on my wall, countrymans were knocking them out a few years ago
  23. For fell hounds look to the smaller shows like the hunt shows, Coniston Country Fair, Rydal etc. This is where the best craic is
