I control geese throughout the year but more so now when they're breeding. This is done because of the threat to public health and other wildlife that the geese present. Also damage to crops on farms that I have permission on. I prick eggs as a first deterrent and will remove birds if they are aggressive or persistent. As far as shooting goes, I use shotgun, centrefire or rimfire. Discretion and safety is needed in public places so get in early to do any control.
