  1. battery life has got worse and reception seems to have got fecking worse with these new phones, they are generally shit.
  2. depends how bad it is mate. it could be fractured broke or dislocated or just plain old knocked a little. have you had the dog looked at by anyone if he is has sore as you are making out it could be broke.
  3. i havent really been anywhere much yet because there is still alot of harvesting to be done so ive been limited to where i go. theres not huge amounts of rabbits on the gound ive done so far but ive been doing o.k. tried a fresh spot the other night and the rabbits were lamp shy to feck its the first time they have been like that in this particular spot that i know of in the last 10 years.
  4. nice one lads. first time ive seen a roof box loaded with rabbits.
  5. magnets can be good on occasions but more often than not they put pigeons off these days. the best bags that we have shot this summer have been with just a standard pattern out not flappers or magnets used.
  6. That last bit trigger do you maybe think they tired or being clever keeping stores in the reserve knowing what the night might be like and know it might be expected tomorrow night also or combo of both ??? If get what i mean combo of them both.
  7. theres a fine line between being super fit and fecked. as has allready been said the only way to get and keep a dog fit is to be out there working it. looking at a dog does not give you a idea of how fit they actually are, ive seen some dogs that are fed a great diet and look true pictures of health and fittness but as soon as you start working them havent got much in the tank at all they just look the part. on the flip side ive seen dogs that look as though they aint going to be fit but they have loads in the tank and probably look as though they aint the best as they are just slightly ti
  8. great stuff. my old dog is 11 today and i can take you to the exact spot he caught his first rabbit at a similiar sort of age to your pup.
  9. it was a ok night here lastnight managed a 3 hour outing. bird came over and brought his old dog bryn for a change and we had a very enjoyable nights sport. nice to see bryn knocking a few over for a change.
  10. very true. imo these folk who like to go that extra mile night after night and push there dogs are needed to keep true hard worked/working blood in the lurcher gene pool
  11. great stuff again Trev. looking forward to seeing your posts through out the season.
  12. i would look for a injury. the dog i am running at the moement was playing up for me for a while never refused a run the just after he turned 2 i had all sorts of problems with him. half hearted runs pulling up early not picking some rabbits up. turns out his front dew claws were giving him some serious pain had them removed and touch wood hes been fine ever since. took me a few nights to work out what was causing the problem but i get there in the end.
  13. the amount of work a dog has plays a part in how injury prone they get. heavily worked dogs are steadier and hardened off more than your once a week dogs. they are also more concious of there suroundings there for less lightly to pick up a injury you get lads with dogs that only go out once or twice a week and there dog always seems to be going home with some sort of problem because they are more reckless trying to make the most of there outings and pay more attention to making the catch and ar not so much aware of the hazards around them during the run.
  14. Doubled up most of the time, the day was just about the dogs having fun, atb some of the most enjoyable trips out the no pressure lets just let the dogs do there thing trips.
  15. looks like as great day there trev well done.
  16. i understand what you are trying to say but if we dont stand up and be counted then our chances when the time comes and they move onto us will be zero. if the hunts get there own little deal then it is because they have stood together and got it for there selves.
  17. there is that. but every bite they take out of the heels of these fox hunting meets and coursing clubs is a bite closer to moving onto the small time rabbitter dont you think? and they'll never stop. shooting, horse riding , fishing . every fecking sport that involves any animal in any way. exactly.
  18. there is that. but every bite they take out of the heels of these fox hunting meets and coursing clubs is a bite closer to moving onto the small time rabbitter dont you think?
  19. i didnt think they done that anymore. i lad was telling me a while back that it had to be stopped because there has been people kill there selves chasing the cheese.
  20. I know what you're saying fella but that's one small fault in everything that we ask of a working dog. You ain't gonna get the perfect dog. The next one might smash cover but not retrieve. The one after might retrieve but cries in the kennel. The next one might be quiet but got bad feet. I could carry on. If you're gonna get rid of every dog what isn't 100% perfect then you're gonna get through some dogs. But you're call mate. All the best. spot on gaz they have all got there faults.
