  1. i had a lad come out with me and he brought the 150 cordless for me to have a look at and it seemed to be a ideal rabbit lamp. tight beem which i like and shone plenty far enough. the beam wasnt white like i am use to, but i am sure i could get use to it. i reckon i could easily put it on the roof of the car or summit stupid and lose it. at least with my tracer its attached to a battery strapped to my waist so i cant lose it lol
  2. i decided to by the hw100kt about 17 months ago after reading a little about them. ive got a hw 77k that i have had for 20 years and i love the gun, i had bought a bsa hornet 22 which was my first pcp i hadnt had it long when i decided to trade it in and try the hw100. i bought the 177 version and to be honest i thought i had made a mistake as i couldnt get on with the gun to start with, it turns out i had it zeroed in to close. after abit of advice of here i altered my zero distance and to be honest what a bloody great piece of kit the gun is. wish i had brought one way before i have
  3. that is the biggest part of the problem. to many town folk in the countryside these days wrecking things for other folk.
  4. good luck with your search for some help. if you manage to get a trip out with tjones he will definatly find you a good bit of sport day or night.
  5. my old chap had all sorts of lurchers when i was growing up so i went out with a few different dogs. the main lurcher i used whilst starting out was a labrador X collie grey. to be honest the dog knew more than me when i first started out lamping her. i would get home from school have tea then i would walk down to the local farm with the lamp and bitch call for the farmers son and have some lamping sessions. had some cracking days out aswell. sometimes i use to be gone that long that mum would send my brother out to look for me.
  6. i wonder if they will kennel them for you whilst you have a couple of weeks holiday as part of there lifetime support package
  7. i agree with the above its not all that hard to do yourself. take your time and you should get it right.
  8. its not that they think the worst its just they have to tell you the worst case scenario to cover there ass. hope the dog makes a full recovery for you jai.
  9. bet them woods will be worth a go at mate yes mate plenty of deer there to take pictures of lol see them most times were down there only seen 1 hare there its deceiving tho the wood probably less than 100yd wide it runs up the side of a road but runs the length of the field there a river on the opposite side of the field its a nice little spot sounds like a field not to far from where you live big flat one footpath runs along the side of the wood. if it is that one then i dont think you will see many hares there.
  10. battery life has got worse and reception seems to have got fecking worse with these new phones, they are generally shit.
  11. depends how bad it is mate. it could be fractured broke or dislocated or just plain old knocked a little. have you had the dog looked at by anyone if he is has sore as you are making out it could be broke.
  12. i havent really been anywhere much yet because there is still alot of harvesting to be done so ive been limited to where i go. theres not huge amounts of rabbits on the gound ive done so far but ive been doing o.k. tried a fresh spot the other night and the rabbits were lamp shy to feck its the first time they have been like that in this particular spot that i know of in the last 10 years.
  13. nice one lads. first time ive seen a roof box loaded with rabbits.
  14. magnets can be good on occasions but more often than not they put pigeons off these days. the best bags that we have shot this summer have been with just a standard pattern out not flappers or magnets used.
  15. That last bit trigger do you maybe think they tired or being clever keeping stores in the reserve knowing what the night might be like and know it might be expected tomorrow night also or combo of both ??? If get what i mean combo of them both.
  16. theres a fine line between being super fit and fecked. as has allready been said the only way to get and keep a dog fit is to be out there working it. looking at a dog does not give you a idea of how fit they actually are, ive seen some dogs that are fed a great diet and look true pictures of health and fittness but as soon as you start working them havent got much in the tank at all they just look the part. on the flip side ive seen dogs that look as though they aint going to be fit but they have loads in the tank and probably look as though they aint the best as they are just slightly ti

  18. it was a ok night here lastnight managed a 3 hour outing. bird came over and brought his old dog bryn for a change and we had a very enjoyable nights sport. nice to see bryn knocking a few over for a change.
  19. very true. imo these folk who like to go that extra mile night after night and push there dogs are needed to keep true hard worked/working blood in the lurcher gene pool
