  2. nothing fancy just a second hand BSA hornet 22. ive got a 177 hw 77k that ive had for 20 years so that hornet is nice for me to shoot and is my first ever pcp.
  3. the fact theres such a large supply of wild deer i would say plays apart in there being not a great deal of deer farms about.
  4. i take it theres nowt wrong with the disco buiscuits at that party
  5. decided to take a hour or so trip out with my air riffle today for the first time this year. its my first pcp gun and i have just got it back after sending it to be turned up so it shoots a little different than i had got use to. i brought it in july last year and have had a few sucsessful outings with it so all in all i was farely pleased, although its been performing well i just new it wasnt upto scratch. anyway i had it chrono tested and found that it was only kicking out 8ft lbs. it arrived back to me a couple of days ago shooting at 11.6ft lbs and i must say ive noticed the differ
  6. looks a nice healthy well reared pup that. atb with it.
  7. i use a 14amp lithium with a lightforce lamp and a 30watt osram bulb had bags of 40+ rabbits regular, a 50 and a partridge, and a 71, never run flat on me yet.
  8. i use a decent steel but every once in a while a blade does need a touch up with a decent sharpening stone.
  9. i use no9s and reckon they are decent knives for the money. the handle does swell when wet and can cause temp problems with opening. ive got a berreta knife i paid £75 for which i dont take out incase i lose it. ive put it up some where safe in the house and have lost the fecking thing anyway.
  10. a good test for a dog preban the fallow regular.
  11. birds pretty much summed it up i reckon. anything the dog does other than rabbits just class as a bonus. one of the best runs i ever seen was a 17 and 19 inch whippet on a good strong winter hare. the run seemed to go on for ever. it was at the point the hare deserved to live but on the other hand those two little whippets had more than earnt the right to catch it. in the end the hare lost but what a fecking run.
  12. Advertising a litter, in the wrong section, not a donator and for a friend ? Now I have no problem against you at all tomo but it seems if your face fits on this site you can do what you want?? thats it mate on here, I got banned for something only a week ago in a forum out the way, same thing said on a much bigger scqle in general and its fine because of who it was feck me whats a matter with you lads? i think we will all agree Tomo catches a rabbit or two through the season, hes found a litter of pups which he thinks will be good enough to work to the standards he requires. and hes goo
  13. i said starve them for a couple of days, the lads ferret wont go down more than a couple of foot and he wants to find out if he can get them to work. his best chance in my opinion is to get them to do it out of hunger for the first couple of times until they switch on. if the ferret goes down and kills at least hes made progress from nothing to something.then at least he then knows they will work. my advice was to do it until he got them working as they were just pets to start with, it wasnt to do it everytime he was to take them out. no ones talking a days ferreting here mate just trying
  14. I think you are wrong mate I had dogs that lamped rabbits night after night year after year [weather and health permitting] .
  15. what species of deer you talking about? i understand that preban deer dogs take abit of getting going back on the rabbits when they have been catching alot of deer and a good deer dog will run past rabbits to go to deer. however for you to say a dog refused to run rabbits because they wanted easier to catch bigger stuff just sounds abit daft. wouldnt be nice if you could go out and catch 20 deer in a night as easy you could go and catch 20 rabbits preban? the old school boys would have been very wealthy people
  16. is a deer easier to catch than a rabbit then? i dont think a preban deer dog would refuse to run a rabbit because a deer was easier to catch.
  17. varity is the spice of life. even dogs will get bored of chasing the same quarry day in day out.
  18. great clip that 246. throw enough work at em and you can steady them. ive seen some very very headstrong dogs calmed after alot of time spent working them in the field. the correct guidence combined with a shit load of work and you will have a steady dog.
  19. strange one that. it could just be bollocks for all we know.
  20. i havent been able to upload a picture on a post since they have changed all the format. i struggle with computers has it is without anyone changeing things.

  22. pal has one early days yet 27 half will finish 28,lots a prey drive ,seem to produce a more lighter framed animal ,than the alli xs .a fancy giving a male of this xs my time .atb bunnys. ive seen one first X malonois/grey and i think thats around 28tts was speaking to a chap a couple of weeks ago who also has a firstX thats 28tts so he tells me. he was looking for a decent grey or grew brood bitch to breed with to get a pup for his self.
  23. starve the feckers for a couple of days before hand untill you get them going. sounds abit cruel i know but hunger should make them start working.
  24. yeah. looks a touch heavier set than the others
