  1. just a quick question i have my hw100k kt zeroed in at 25 yards with accu pells 177. when shooting at anything under 25 yards the pellets are going lower than i am aiming which means i am having to hold over for head shots on squirrels on the side of trees. is this right? as i thought it should be hold under not hold over i must say what a bloody cracking gun. although i am still getting use to it i have killed some sort of stuff with it allready.
  2. i spent many a time watching the ultimate warrior when i was a kid. its mad to think how time has gone by and that young bloke i watched as i kid has now passed away.
  3. They wouldn't have seen it the field is on the left, on a sort of hill behind cover if that makes sense? And it was probably 30 yards from me when I took picture, by the time I'd pssst the dog through the cover and over the fence it was safe.
  4. i like the last shot of the rabbit, but what the feck was the dogs doing while you was taking it.

congratulations. and 7.9lb is a decent enough size mate.
  6. i dint mind baw. and to be honest when i first look on thl for the day and have a quick browse through if there was a topic started by baw more often than not it would be the first fecker i read as i new it would have plenty going on one way or the other.
  7. its more what i didnt see than what i saw. i was out lamping one night when i was 17 hadnt long been dropped of and was steadily making my way back home which i had done on many occasions. on my route round theres a old run down church and yard which i use to cut through sometimes just to shorten the walk a little, on this particular night i was walking through the church yard and the dog stopped dead infront of me and started snarling/growling. anyway a quick flick with the lamp and nothing so i went to carry on walking and the dog carried on growling/snarling so another quick flick of the la
  8. imo theres nowt wrong being abit of a softy with your working animals vin. I know mate... remember that trip to the vets at 4am...? I know one or 2 who would have got the spade out at 2am. . . I don't regret a single penny I've spent/lost/squandered on my dogs. . . . or ferrets... lol. Jim you have a photo book full of memories of big bags and long days with everything on the lists ticked off and done over the last 30 odd years. . I cant tell you anything you don't already know.. But all I can say is I enjoy the quality of sport nowadays and the numbers are the very last th
  9. dogs aint daft they soon get to know the crack some abit easier than others. a day dog can go out on the lamp and be taught to work has it should do of a night.

  11. how much do the credentials really matter? its pot luck when picking a pup. good dogs can throw shit pups and shit dogs good pups.
  12. to be honest i am suprized his ears dont stick up aswell. my old is 1/4 alsation and his ears stick up and always have since 6 months of age.
  13. as long as snipe can still do the buisnes i dont see no reason why he still should'nt be in full working order. i know a chap who had a greyhound stud dog and it served a bitch the day before it died of old age and she took.
  14. rays buck ina season or 2 keep the xs strong atb bunnys. buck will certainly put some strength in there thats for sure. hes got abit of length to him aswell
  15. welcome daz. although ive been a site member a while i am new to posting in the airgun section i will be going to some permission for a walk round and will be taking my 12 year old nephew with his air riffle aswell. before i have a look around i need to zero my scope in to a different make of pellets and see how my gun performs with them. its all trial and error at the moe with new gun.
  16. I disagree. Numbers is good but quality shows ability. An easy catch is an easy catch and it's easy to get numbers if you have numbers to catch. i used the term mostley as its one of the first things any dog gets judged by imo. first question i ask when buying a pup in isnt do the parents look good chasing game as i aint worried if they have caught much lol. for arguments sake lets say wee took 2 dogs out and they both had 10 runs the first dog caught 4 out the 10 but dont look over impressive. the secound dog runs 10 but only catches 1 but the one he catches he gets quick and roles o
  17. I disagree in that the emphasis is now firmly on numbers caught rather than the quality of the runs. I ran on permission over 25 years ago , and some of the best permission in the country it was too. Ah well, I suppose I have my memories. a dog is judged mostley on what they have caught not how they caught it.
  18. i reckon it jacked on hares in that snow.
