  1. a lick of creasote job done
  2. feck the vaccination programe that again will cost the goverment alot of time and money. the easyiest sollution would be to legalize the cull of badgers for a few years and just the lads who love doing the job get on with it. that option in my eyes would be a very effective and cheap option.
  3. weasle has allready pointed out birds will take them. crows especially they are always scavageing.
  4. just after a few pointers for keeping my air riffle clean and looking in good condition. i always used normal furniture polish on my old hw77 since i was a kid as i was told to never use WD40. although ive only had my air riffle about 3 weeks theres alot of dust about and it appears to be building up in the slot where the magazine goes, the cocking mechinisum is also looking as though it will hold alot of dust if not cleaned regular. is there a cleaning kit i can get? almost forgot she's a hw100kt.
  5. i know pups go back for a secound shot mate. but never known a adult dog whos upto date with all his jabs needing to go for a secound shot with his booster.
  6. i took the dog to the vets friday for his annual booster, and free health check lol. once the vet had given my dog his booster she then informs me that i have to go back in four weeks for a secound jab. (by now i am thinking yeah right how much is that going to fecking cost?) anyway she informs me that there is no extra charge for the jab but due to new strains of leptospyrosis in the area the jab is a must. its a new one on me. has anybody else herd of the extra jab needed to be done? hes 3 years old and upto date with his jabs.
  7. its good to see the youngsters following in our footsteps. bet he was buzzing. i was with a young lad when he shot his first fallow he was that excited when telling his grandfather on the phone he forgot my name lol and hes known me 4 years.
  8. good to hear that. its nice to see and hear the song birds.
  9. great advice pete thanks. ive zeroed the gun in at 35yds now and i have changed to jsb exacts and what a difference it has made. getting on with the gun better than ever now. had a quick walk after zeroing the gun killed 2 rabbits 2 crows and a squirrel. head shot 1rabbit at about 32yds neck shot the other at about 15yds he just popped out infront of me and sat up. killed the crows at around 40yds and the squirrel at about 30yds.

  12. thanks alot pete. ive only had the gun 2 weeks and i am still getting use to it.
  13. ive recently perchased the same gun and i am very happy with it and its my secound and last pcp gun. i dont think i will be needing any other air riffle
  14. just a quick question i have my hw100k kt zeroed in at 25 yards with accu pells 177. when shooting at anything under 25 yards the pellets are going lower than i am aiming which means i am having to hold over for head shots on squirrels on the side of trees. is this right? as i thought it should be hold under not hold over i must say what a bloody cracking gun. although i am still getting use to it i have killed some sort of stuff with it allready.
  15. i spent many a time watching the ultimate warrior when i was a kid. its mad to think how time has gone by and that young bloke i watched as i kid has now passed away.
  16. They wouldn't have seen it the field is on the left, on a sort of hill behind cover if that makes sense? And it was probably 30 yards from me when I took picture, by the time I'd pssst the dog through the cover and over the fence it was safe.
  17. i like the last shot of the rabbit, but what the feck was the dogs doing while you was taking it.

  19. i dint mind baw. and to be honest when i first look on thl for the day and have a quick browse through if there was a topic started by baw more often than not it would be the first fecker i read as i new it would have plenty going on one way or the other.
  20. its more what i didnt see than what i saw. i was out lamping one night when i was 17 hadnt long been dropped of and was steadily making my way back home which i had done on many occasions. on my route round theres a old run down church and yard which i use to cut through sometimes just to shorten the walk a little, on this particular night i was walking through the church yard and the dog stopped dead infront of me and started snarling/growling. anyway a quick flick with the lamp and nothing so i went to carry on walking and the dog carried on growling/snarling so another quick flick of the la
  21. imo theres nowt wrong being abit of a softy with your working animals vin. I know mate... remember that trip to the vets at 4am...? I know one or 2 who would have got the spade out at 2am. . . I don't regret a single penny I've spent/lost/squandered on my dogs. . . . or ferrets... lol. Jim you have a photo book full of memories of big bags and long days with everything on the lists ticked off and done over the last 30 odd years. . I cant tell you anything you don't already know.. But all I can say is I enjoy the quality of sport nowadays and the numbers are the very last th
  22. dogs aint daft they soon get to know the crack some abit easier than others. a day dog can go out on the lamp and be taught to work has it should do of a night.
